What team has won the most Division 1-A National Championships?

I guess i misunderstood the question as being for football considering A: it says "Division I-A" and B: today is the day the College Foorball championship is awarded

Princeton won 28 Titles in Football.

1869, 1870, 1872, 1873, 1874, 1875, 1877,

1889,1893, 1894,1896, 1898, 1899, 1903,

1906, 1911, 1920,1922, 1933, 1935, 1950

whenever its referred to as 1-a its football, everything else is just division 1,2,3. thats why there are som many division one basketball conferences cause its 1-a, 1-aa combined

Well Preinceto and Yale do have more taht is true. So Ill give credit for those, but of todays 1-A schools Notre Damne with 11 has the most and is tied with Alabama.
