John Deere rips off the Cyclones?

Aren't there rules about self-plagerism? -- I don't think a designer owns the rights to his own logos after he designs them for a company/team.

Interesting point.... I had always thought the logo would be the property of the club or the league. Then again, there is that John Foggerty story where his record company sued him for composing a song that sounded close to another somg he wrote (???)

Yes I was thinking that -- they ruled in Fogerty's favour saying he couldn't help sounding like himself.

But this is a pretty obvious direct copy. Maybe Radom didn't even design this John Deere one.

Very funny you mention Fogerty. I remember when he released the "Centerfield" single and album; I always thought the album's cover art was a ripoff of the SF Giants' home jersey design of the same era:
