Czechs Win World Championships

Hmmm...judging from the fact that a good number of NHLers posted a no-show (Sundin, Sakic, Iginla, etc.), and that the NHLers that weren't playing in Europe were, let's face it, shoddy...

I wonder if the NHL lockout is to blame for Canada's loss?

Still, silver's okay. Better than nothing. :flagcanada:

"It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the

press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of

speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us

the freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes the

flag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag, and

who allows the protester to burn the flag."

And what I dont understand is,the US Juniors win Gold last year, and get very little if any coverage, the US Women end a unprecedented run by the Canadian Women,at the Womens Worlds, and we hear nothing about it,but the Czechs winning today makes the front page on yahoo......thats just insane

Because the Juniors and women aren't exactly hockey news worthy.

I have a question for the rest of the Canadians, and this may answer a stereotype of mine...

Do you all share the same sentiment of Suigi's in feeling that "silver is better than nothing?" or are you like the Americans are with basketball and feel that this is a black day in Canadian history???
