Different boxes would be way too cluttered, but the alternating colours, or even highlighting each year with a colour would be nice.Very cool, love the picture pages as well. That is a great new look. It's similar to the page concept I did and I can re-post it if you still want to take a look at it. The only thing I might change is to bring the grey background down just a shade or two lighter. Just a bit. And separating the history text with colors or something is also a good idea.
