Lovely. So I guess what this now means is that more and more sports venues and teams are going to have to go the route of armed security personnel to enforce policies that the police cannot enforce. Clearly the cops can intervene against public disruptions like fights and disorderly conduct, but for matters like violations of stadium policy (unauthorized vendors, sneaking in food or other prohibited, legal items like umbrellas) the police cannot get involved (unless there's escalation like this incident). Employing armed security personnel means higher costs (for the armed personnel and liability insurance) and thus higher ticket prices. Wheeeee!
