Cardinals Stripped Socks!

DomainMaster- A quick primer in sock technology. Those "faux stirrups" are actually knitted into the sock. Read my lips. They are NOT sewn-on pieces of cloth! Notice that there are squared-off angles near the top of the cut-out area. This look is caused because no sock knitting machine can make round corners.

Since these socks are made in the "tube" style, thereby having no heel, it is understandable how a player could wear them backwards.

These socks were introduced around 20 years ago as a money-saving idea aimed primarily at little league, youth league and high school teams. Any sporting goods store that deals in team uniforms can still order them for you. Solid colors are usually stocked by the manufacturer. Special striping (Cardinals, Bosox, Indians, etc.) versions are special order and may have a two- or three-dozen minimum quantity. Hope this informs and enlightens you.
