SEMOSTLfan
I'm watching the Sugar Bowl and I noticed earlier today in the Fiesta Bowl that certain pass interference calls were marked from the spot of the foul where others were automatic 15 yard penalties. I thought pass interference in college was always 15 yards. Can anyone explain the difference?sorry, just realized i spelled inconsistencies wrong in the title. my bad. slapshot
It all depends on the spot of the foul. Less than 15 yards from the line of scrimmage, it's a spot foul. More than 15 yards, then it's 15 yards from the line of scrimmage, period.Penalties can also be lessened if they occur within the 30 yard line (if I remember), because then it's half the distance to the goal line.
