FiddySicks
How quicky Pats fans have turned on their Super Bowl Savior. Wow. And this is a surprise, how? Boston fans are cannibals. We hate those who have garnered our love and then turned to sign with our rivals. Johnny Damon, Roger Clemens, Wade Boggs, now Adam Vinatieri. Players can go elsewhere and not be hated. No one hates Pedro Martinez, no one hates Antoine Walker, no one hates Derek Lowe. Seriously think about this. Boston fans being more mad at players like Clemens, Boggs, and Vinitari leaving than they are about guys like Derrick lowe and Antoine Walker leaving. Um, well. Whats the word im looking for? Oh yeah. Duh. BoggsClemensDamonVinitariHall of Famers (excluding Damon, who was still HUGE in Boston)LoweWalkerPedronot Hall of Famers (and unless Pedro really shows something in the next few years in NY, and im talkin like 1999 numbers, he'll fall to the level of Lowe) It has nothing to do with their future Hall of Fame status. It matters who they sign with. We're cool with Pedro because he didn't sign with the Yankees; he signed with the Mets. Walker because he doesn't play for the Nets. D-Lowe because, again, he doesn't play for the Yankees. But i think your missing my point. Look at the quality of the players you "hate" to the players you "dont hate". Guys like Derrick Lowe and Antoine Walker dont compare to guys like Clemens and Boggs. I mean sure i was Madf as an A's fan when Giambi went to the Yanks, but he was a HUGE player at the time. But when, for example, a guy like John VanderWal left the Giants to go to the Yanks, i couldve cared less. I mean sure you dont hate mid rqange players who leave your team. But for example, lets say Schilling signed a contract with the Tigers or someone, i bet youd feel the same way. If Schilling's contract expired with the Sox and he chose to sign with the Tigers, I'd be happy for him and wish him luck. On the other hand, guys like Mike Myers, Alan Embree and Mark Bellhorn -- who are NOT stars at all -- are on my Hate List because they went from the Red Sox to the Yankees. It has nothing to do with a player's star power -- it has to do with their loyalty.
Jigga
The same "loyalty" the Sawks showed Bronson Arroyo right? He signs a "hometown" deal with Boston and they ship his ass to Cincinnati. Yeah, that loyalty. On January 16, 2013 at 3:49 PM, NJTank said: Btw this is old hat for Notre Dame. Knits Rockne made up George Tip's death bed speech. Yeah, that loyalty. thank you greg - i love how fans just throw around the word "loyalty" when it comes to players leaving. Would you just stay at your company if a higher-paying job was offered to you? I didn't think so... A large cheese pizza, just for me.New England's source for soccer newsAnd hey, I made it to ESPN!
