Update on ULM's new helmet.

I've just seen a photo from their first practice, and it shows a player wearing a white helmet with a maroon facemask. According the Helmet Project forum, several ULM sources have said that they may put the bird head logo on the helmet. I would think that the helmet should be unveiled soon because team picture day should be here sometime this month. However, I wonder what they whole new uniform set will look like. I would think that they would have to get new uniforms (or at least jerseys) because the old jerseys had "Indians" on the front.

Oh yeah, the link.

I could have sworn I saw that there wasn't enough time to make completely new unis for this season so they were just putting a patch over the Indians name on the front of the jerseys...

I can easily see that as a possibility. We had to do that whenever we changed from "Troy State University" to "Troy University" two years ago. So, we got twill patches that said "TROJANS" on them and put them over the "TROY STATE" on the front of the jerseys. We then bought a completely new set the season afterwards.

Wait a minute...

103 players were on the first practice roster by 4 p.m. as the 2005 Sun Belt Champions prepare to defend their title.

Who was at the New Orleans Bowl (in Lafayette) as the representative of the Sun Belt Conference again? If that's the case, I guess the Cajuns can say the above too?

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008
