The Wanderers folded after 5 games when their arena burned down.The Maroons came along in 24 I believe--the only connection is they were both the English team for Montreal. How hard would the D-Rays be playing if they were in danger of being relegated to AAA? Sure, relegation/promotion sounds great. Until you realize one major distinction between the English system and MLB: EPL teams don't use teams in the lower English divisions as farm teams. If all the minor league teams ended their affiliations with MLB parent clubs, it could work. But it'd be awkward for all the Royals' September call-ups to be facing the "parent club" the next season when the KC Royals travel to Omaha to take on the Omaha Royals in fierce AAA action.
