ROCHitman
He certainly wasn't an angel. The following year, he was convicted in Florida of raping a family baby sitter and was sentenced to four years in prison. He also was convicted in 1992 of second-degree grand theft for forging his ex-wife's signature to get a mortgage on a home. After serving 15 months in prison, Berbick was deported from the United States. He went to Canada, where he lived for a time following the 1976 Olympics. He eventually moved back to the United States but was deported a second time. Mac the Knife
"Berbick, 52, suffered a gaping head wound in the attack in a church courtyard in his native Norwich village, 145 miles east of Kingston, and was pronounced dead at the Port Antonio Hospital, police said. They said the assailant was carrying a weapon such as a machete or hatchet that cut a deep 'chop wound'."Hacked to death by a machete? Wow. That ranks right up there with Gerald Ford being eaten by wolves. Can't say I ever met Trevor, but his history is one typical of Don King heavyweights of the 80's: drugs, jail, premature death or near-death under unusual circumstances (see John Tate, Greg Page). Sad.

Jigga
This just keeps getting more bizarre. Berbick's nephew has been arrested and charged with murdering the former champ with a 2-inch-thick metal pipe recovered from the scene.
