DDR Posted May 1, 2007 Share Posted May 1, 2007 I couldn't find a more recent one than this, so:1957 Philadelphia Warriors (Defending Champions) and Fort Wayne Pistons (runners-up) both lost in the first round. Interesting to note that before Chicago took care of Miami, the '57 Warriors were the last defending champions to be swept in the first round, I believe. Although, it was only a best-of-three series.
