Lampley was a WFAN original but didn't not host the original show 3-6 leading into Mets extra.

For the Good Times was the last WHN song

and Waldman gave the first WFAN words a 3:00 update.

I'm pretty sure the first ever WFAN show coming out of the initial 3PM update was Jim Lampley. Now my memory is a bit fuzzy but I do remember being glued to the car radio at 3PM that day heading west on the LIE from somewhere in Suffolk County.

"On July 1, 1987, Emmis Communications-owned WFAN signed on at 1050 kHz, replacing country music station WHN, and billing itself as the world's first 24-hour-per-day sports talk station. The first voice heard on WFAN was that of Suzyn Waldman with a sports update, followed by the first show, which was hosted by Jim Lampley."

When Bobby Orr was asked why he always wore a cup

but not a helmet,he replied:"I can always get

someone else to do my thinking for me!"
