The 24 Hours of Le Mans

Unlike most sporting events where you turn on the TV and watch the event happen with commentary, the 24 Hours of Le Mans gives you an opportunity to get plugged into a sporting event, perhaps like no other.

Speed Channel broadcasts the majority of the race, but not all 24 hours of it like it used to do when it was Speedvision.

Once they go off the air for awhile, it's time to get plugged in.

I've got live timing and scoring, which updates itself like the mlb gamecast. http://www.ris-timing.be/kangaroo/24h.htm All the info you could want is displayed and color coded for each class.

The best way to follow the race is the excellent Radio Le Mans audio commentary. http://globecast.workscast.com/

I've also got links to the weather radar in France since rain is in the forecast and they continue to race in the wet.

I've also got back up video feeds bookmarks from the message board just in case, since I've had to switch feeds a few times for the video until Speed TV comes back to the race at 8 tonight.

There's certainly more out there as well, especially the photo galleries as they are posted.

It's one thing to watch an MLB game over MLB.TV with the gamecast, but this just feels like taking that two steps farther. It's a remarkable feeling to be this wired into an event as it unfolds at a pace the normal 3 hour team event does not allow.

one of the reasons i love this race is the use of cars i never see in stock car racing, like the aston martin, lamborghini, ferrari, Corvette, saleen etc.

i'd like to see the final couple of hours, since i don't have the attention span for the previous 22 hours.
