Stampman Posted March 1, 2004 Share Posted March 1, 2004 PCHA--which later merged with the WCHL later becoming the WHL.There was also the PCHL which was formed after the WHL folded--but by then the NHL had asserted its superiority and after that the Stanley CUp was purely an NHL trophy.PCHA--Pacific Coast Hockey AssociationWCHL- West Coast Hockey League The other two acronyms are very close--The Metros played in bothe the PCHA & WCHL--the Millionaires in the PCHA--the WCHL Vancouver franchise was called the Maroons.(The WCHL also contained the Calgary Tigers who played for the Stanley Cup against the Montreal Canadiens, and lost--but meaning every time a Calgary based team has played for the Stanley Cup they have played the Canadiens) Comic Sans walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve your type here."
