2006, the Twins win to move into a tie for first place on the last day of the season, and the fans and players all watch the Royals take down the Tigers on the big screen after the game to clinch the division.

Events I witnessed at the Metrodome myself:

• Twins' first game in the Dome (11-7 loss to Mariners)
  
• Gopher football's first game in the Dome (don't remember the score but it was a blowout win over Ohio U)
  
• Tim Teufel's inside-the-park homer to defeat the White Sox in a 1984 game
  
• Game 2 of the '87 ALCS (Twins beat Tigers 6-3)
  
• The Lakers' first regular-season game in Minneapolis since moving to Los Angeles, during the T-Wolves' first season at the Dome in 1989. This was while Target Center was still under construction, and it turned out to be the only Wolves game I've ever attended.
  
• Two Prep Bowl (MN high school football championships) games of note. First, in '90, my alma mater of Fridley High School won the Class A title game. (This was the year after I graduated; at that time, 'A' was the state's second-highest tier.)
  
• Then in '93 one of my cousins played in the nine-man championship game for Chokio-Alberta, who won that game too.
  
• A Rolling Stones concert in 1994
  
• The Christmas Eve 2004 game where Brett Favre rallied the Packers in the 4th quarter to a 34-31 win over the Vikings, clinching their third straight NFC North title. (And two weeks later I also got to see the playoff rematch, aka "Moon Over Lambeau".)
