cjzilligen Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 So I just finished my sketchbook for school at the last minute (yeah, I procrastinated...). I decided to draw Deangelo Williams, one of my favorite players from one of my favorite teams. Not sure where I should've put this topic, but here it is:(Sorry for the size of the image; and the lighting on my camera sucks...)Here's the original picture for reference:What do ya guys think? vmd9 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 the legs need some work. Especially the left thigh, which looks huge, and the left foot.did you use a grid to draw him? that's what I felt always works the best, because it really helps to keep the proportions accurate.
cjzilligen Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 I just drew it straight from hand, and I feel like grids sometimes leave indents of where it used to be. Dribbble | Twitter | Facebook | Portfolio
DrJack Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Very nice color definition and shadow with the colored pencil. I agree that some of the body proportions are a bit off, but the rendering is quite nice.
elsephen Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Not bad. Proportions are off, but it happens in free-hand.
