The CFL also has one less down and therefore less plays per game, which means less opportunities for injury.

How the hell does that follow? I would venture to guess that things like play clock and game clock length determine how many plays happen in a game. Not the fact that there is one less down per possession as it were.

Yeah, the CFL play clock's shorter, so there are actually more plays in a CFL game. Although the main difference is that the CFL game is a lot more "air it out" and athletic (hence less chance for injury) than the NFL's more "smashmouth" and "tough-guy" game.

/CFL is a lot more like the pick-up football games you play as a kid, that's for sure.
