AAO
If the Nets are really moving to Brooklyn, then when will they change their name? Behance Network || ianbakar.com || Dribbble
jkrdevil
My gues is there first year in Brooklyn. Right now, they have to play at the meadowlands untill 2007. Plus, they may not even go to Brooklyn, the sale isn't final yet, and the arena will face opposition.
Waffles
To add on to what jkr said, the sale and move are still pending NBA approval, although it is generally thought that neither should be a problem (Stern and the owners are said to be in favor of the move). As much as the Knicks may dislike the move, they don't have a lot of recourse in stopping it as far as territorial rights go.Most Brooklyn/New York politicians (borough president, NYC mayor, NY governor) all support the project. The only opposition right now is coming from some community leaders (although generous cash buyouts by the new owner, Ratner, of property owners in the path of the project are quickly quieting them).
