jkrdevil
I was just looking at the voting for the AL and noticed that Boston fans are stuffing the box. Nomar Garciaparra leads all AL shortstops despite not playing 1 game so far this year. Is it me or is there something wrong.Don't get me wrong I don't think Jeter (whose second) should be voted in because he struggled in the beginning. I think Tejada should start, he's had a good year so far, much better than Garciaparra who again hasn't played a game.
Shmee
Fan voting is fan voting. Is it always (even often) logical? Not quite. Not every person can be super genius fans like us. slapshot
Of course there's ballot stuffing. The league encourages it by letting the fans vote as many times as they wish. But Nomah's not the first player to lead the league in voting while not playing due to injury, he's only the latest. But that's why there are manager's picks to bring in the deserving players.Oddly enough, David Ortiz, the league leader in RBI who might be the Sox' MVP this season, isn't even on the ballot.
