GeneralW91
ABA inks network radio deal July 3, 2004 - Indianapolis, IN. Joe Newman, ABA Co-Founder, today announced that the professional basketball league has completed an agreement with Events Media International (EMI) to provide network radio coverage beginning this season. According to Newman, "We have spoken with many groups interested in broadcasting ABA games. EMI and its principals, Gary Nice (CEO/President) and Keith Cameron (Vice President) have a passion for our league and understand what we are trying to accomplish. We believe EMI will be able to put together an extraordinary program for us and provide excellent nationwide and international coverage."Nice commented, "The interest in the ABA is remarkable. With so many cities, and with the league providing exciting, high-scoring pro basketball at affordable prices, stations are lining up to be a part of this brand new network. Our plans also include broadcasting over the internet and developing ABA video games. We're thrilled to be a part of it."Newman also commented, "Though EMI has just started, we understand that over 100 radio stations have already committed to carry the "ABA Game of the Week" as well as an hour-long call-in radio show and short weekly 6-10 minute features. I can't tell you how important this is to the league and how excited we are to have this kind of coverage."Cameron added, "Our goal is to have the "ABA Game of the Week" available in all of the ABA markets this season and internationally as well. We have a lot of work to do, but based on the response thus far, it does not look too difficult at all. The ABA Radio Network Stations will be posted on the website shortly. For more information about how to become a part of it, contact Keith Cameron at (310) 291-4411 or email kcam32@earthlink.net. www.ABAsite.tk
nitroseed
Maybe it's just me, but I can't get into sports on the radio. It's about as frustrating as hearing your team score a winning touchdown while listening from the kitchen as you're making a sandwich.
