Sorry if this has already been discussed here, but while watching the Nevada-Fresno State game I noticied that some Nevada players had stripes on there helmets while most did not. Does anyone know that reason for this, senior players get stripes?

This is my 1st post, so if this topic has been talked about maybe I can catch a break. Great site!

11.25.05 -- It's been quite an impressive senior collegiate grid season for Sonoma Valley High School alumnus Tony Moll, a 2001 SVHS graduate who was recently honored as an offensive tackle for the University of Nevada, Reno football team.

The 6-foot, 5-inch, 305-pound Moll - who was switched from tight end to offensive tackle for the current season - has earned the "Striker Award" for his dominating offensive play this season.

To receive the striker award, a Wolfpack football player must be nominated by his position coach and then has to play at a top level for three straight games, which Sonoma's Moll accomplished over a recent stretch of key Western Athletic Conference action.

Also honored with the striker award - signified by a stripe on the middle of the player's helmet - by UN Reno head coach Chris Ault, was senior running back B.J. Mitchell, who happens to be Moll's roommate.

I jush wish they use the Helmet Logo as the Primary logo for the School rather then the N with the wolf comming out of it.............

So does everyone else in the Northern Nevada area. Theyve been trying to Phase it out for the last few years and just use the Wolf logo, but for some reason it keeps coming back with a furious vengance.
