  1. 11 games in a a row now for the Redlegs. The longest winning streak for the club since the Eisenhower presidency (1957), 3 straight series sweeps, and 13-2 since they called up Elly De La Cruz. But dont let this distract you from the fact that Castellini still needs to sell the team.

  2. Bob Huggins has resigned as head coach at West Virginia.  Huggins was arrested in Pittsburgh for DUI on Friday. He was already on thin ice. This comes just over month after he said a homophobic slur on Cincinnati radio. He was suspended for the first three games, received a pay cut and his contract changed from a multi year agreement to a year by year agreement.  Huggins was arrested for a DUI in 2004 in Cincinnati as well. He was forced out of University of Cincinnati a year later.

  3. Congrats to Vancouver Whitecaps FC on capturing their second straight Canadian Championship and a spot in next years CONCACAF Champions League Cup.

The US Open Cup semifinals are set. Houston Dynamo will host Real Salt Lake and FC Cincinnati will host Inter Miami (and potentially Messi). Winners will meet in the Open Cup final with Salt Lake having first hosting priority, followed by Miami, and Cincinnati.

Just stopping by to reiterate just how dumb/derivative the name "Inter Miami" is...

    ...That's all.

I agree, however, its not a City, United, FC Miami, Miami FC. Seeing as how it is different from the rest of the league, Ill allow it.

  5. Relocate to where? Unless MLB or an owner privately finances the building of a stadium and the infrastructure, they arent going anywhere. Nowadays, its extremely difficult to find a city that is willing to pony up taxpayer money to help fund the building of a stadium for a sports team run by wealthy owners. Plus AmFam is 22 years old and is still very usable. Oakland/Las Vegas needs to be the first priority for Manfred. The sooner they can get out of the possum dump the better. Tropicana, while not ideal is in better shape than Oakland. Id then place Angel Stadium after that. Milwaukee is far down on the list of stadium needs. If the Brewers dont get the funding, they can survive a little while longer without the upgrades. Not a big deal.

  6. We are down to the quarterfinals in the US Open Cup

Birmingham and Pittsburgh, the last two, USL clubs remaining, upset their MLS opponents Charlotte and Columbus.  (Rough week for Columbus, losing to both Cincy and Pitt. Ouch)Pittsburgh will play at Cincinnati, Birmingham will host Inter Miami. Chicago hosts Houston and Salt Lake hosts LA Galaxy.

Meanwhile, North of the Border, the Canadian Championship Final is set with Vancouver Whitecaps hosting CF Montreal.

FC Cincinnati - Lions/Orange and Blue

FCC, The Orange and Blue, FC Cincy, Knifey Lions, and The Garys are the several nicknames Ive heard for FC Cincinnati, but never just the Lions. Thats Orlando.

  8. Cincinnati takes part 1 of Hell Is Real 3-2 over Columbus. The Crew looked like the better team but mistakes led to the goals for Cincinnati. FCC now has a 5 point lead for first in the East and remains atop the Supporters Shield.  FCC is still unbeaten at home

I’m telling you Bettman has no interest in actually solving this situation. Maybe he did 10, 5, 3 years ago, but now he’s just going to keep delaying and stretching things out with the Coyotes until he retires and then they’re the next guy’s problem. I know checked out senioritis when I see it. I’ve left jobs before.

Hell, Bettman will just invent a new Phoenix suburb, and the team will go there, introducing Committed, Arizona.

I said it before and Ill say it again, Bettman wont stop until the Coyotes have tried every suburb of Phoenix. Mesa is actually further out than Glendale.

They now have a poll on twitter asking where they should build their new home (Mesa, Scottsdale, Chandler, and Gilbert). They just dont know the meaning of the word quit.

  12. As much as Id love to see Quebec City back in the NHL, I think in order to keep the divisional and conference alignment set the best options would be Houston, Kansas City and Salt Lake.  A move to the East to Quebec would mean either Columbus or Detroit would have to move back to the west, which I know neither want to do, or they could do the Covid divisional alignment with an 8 team Canadian division, and an East, Central, and West divisions and scrap the conferences.

  13. FC Cincinnati was given a gift by the soccer gods last Saturday during their bye as all the teams around them in the standings either lost or draw. Tonight they capitalized on that gift beating Montreal 3-0 and are now 7-0-0 at The Tickle to start the MLS season. With New England off tonight that now puts them atop the East and Supporters Shield standings as they head into Hell is Real on Saturday.

I'll wait to see what our two resident Cincinnatians have to say about this before I throw my little two rusted Lincolns in the mix...

Im not a fan. Ive never been a fan of black in the Reds uniforms and logos since it was added in 1999. Im a red and white purist. While I like Cincy as a script, having it and the numbers be black on black is a visibility nightmare. The C  on the hat screams Portland Trail Blazers.  Nothing of this uniform screams Cincinnati. The only bit they do have that even remotely represents the city is Juncta Juvant, and the Buckeye is more for Ohio overall than Cincinnati, and they are hiding in the collar. That being said, while I dont think these are good, they are miles better than Baltimores leak.
