FC Cincinnati advanced on penalties Saturday night. Kansas City upsets St Louis to sweep their series knocking out the top seed in the west. LAFC swept Vancouver, but not without controversy, as LAFC was up 1-0 in second half stoppage. Vancouver had their keeper up as an eleventh man on offense, leaving an empty goal for Vancouver. PRO official Tim Ford pretty much bodychecked a Vancouver player who had the ball coming right toward him, leaving the ball for LAFC who took it down field for the empty net to seal it for LAFC. Vancouver surrounded Ford furious. Goal was called off though for offsides, but a big chance for Vancouver to tie it was lost.
Meanwhile congrats to North Carolina FC who leave USL League One as champions, defeating rival Charlotte Independence in penalties. NCFC is joining USL Championship next year.

End of an era. Reds have declined the option for Joey Votto.

Please look at Rockford on a map and its location relative to Chicago. Then look at Rosemont, IL, and understand that some people both local and out-of-market get twitchy about teams in that town labeling themselves "Chicago." (I am not one of those people.)
"Rockford Rush" is a perfectly cromulent name for a market with its own well-established minor league sports scene. You aren't going to win over Stateliners by pretending you're Chicago, and you're not going to get Chicagoans coming 70 miles out on I-90 to see you because of it, either. So what's the point?
Its like how the 1997 Tennessee Oilers were based and practiced in Nashville, but made the 212 mile trip to Memphis for each home game, expecting fans to do the same. We all remember that not only did fans not drive from Nashville for the games, fans in Memphis didnt show up either.

I dont like that there are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night games. Games 1 and 2 for CBS-ATL are on weeknights, and game three if necessary on a Sunday night. Just horrible scheduling all around.

Louisville City is a team I want to see in MLS, as MLS is Louisville's only chance at a Major League team at this point.
Agreed. Id love to see Louisville, and Indy in MLS

There are 4 things that are certain in life.
-Death
-Taxes
- Forge FC in the CPL Finals
-Louisville City in the USL Championship conference finals
Congrats to Forge FC on winning their 4th title in 5 years tonight over rival Cavalry FC
Louisville in their 9th season is heading to the conference finals for the 9th season in a row.
USL League One Final is set between rivals North Carolina FC and Charlotte Independence. North Carolina will be returning to the Championship next season.
MLS playoffs were blowouts today.

Would this be considered malicious compliance? My solution: The team wears throwbacks of their former Florida State League club (1997-00), the St Petersburg Devil Rays.

At a St Petersburg council meeting, the Rays gave a presentation on the new stadium development project. Apparently part of the agreement is the Rays play one game, wearing "St Petersburg Rays" jerseys (pending MLB approval). To me this just screams the whole "Anaheim" schtick, that city forced the Angels to do, where the city didnt want to be little brother to Los Angeles so the team compromised with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim bs. St Pete doesnt want to play little brother to Tampa. I mean, theres a reason why its called Tampa Bay and not St Petersburg Bay. Not to mention the 4+1 rule for jerseys now. Would the St Petersburg jersey be considered a special jersey like the Boston Patriots Day jersey or the Jays Canada Day jersey?

Guess the Reds should've had the better record then the DBacks and thet would be in the World Series instead
Had the Reds won their final two games with the Cardinals, they would've taken the Dbacks spot in the postseason.

Two teams who have no business playing in the world series are playing in the world series. Oof. The Reds swept the Rangers this year and took 4 of 7 from the D-backs, including a three game sweep. I guess Ill go for the Rangers since they havent won a world series yet.

Columbus and Orlando have also made the Champions Cup due to top 3 in the league finishes, long with FC Cincinnati, Houston Dynamo and Inter Miami who'd already qualified.

New England is on standby, if one of those teams (excluding Miami) wins MLS Cup

So kinda but not really football related, my local radio station was doing a giveaway to send the winner to Dallas for Thanksgiving to see Dolly Parton perform at halftime, where she will be performing songs from her new rock album (release on Nov 17)

MLS Cup playoffs are set. Meanwhile in the opening round of the USL Championship playoffs, Detroit knocked off Players Shield winners Pittsburgh. In the CPL its another Forge-Cavalry CPL final.

My favorite one yet

It looks like a sewer lid. I can live with another city name FC name but this is bad. Even the Montreal snowflake butthole was better than this.

Of the four remaining teams we have a total of 16 pennants won (PHI-8, HOU-5, TEX-2, ARZ-1) , but only 5 world series won (PHI-2, HOU-2*, ARZ-1, TEX-0)

Those are fair points. You're right that FCD is in Frisco for a long time. I found portions of their lease agreement and it states they're in Frisco to at least 2037!
But if they try hard enough, they could probably get out of their lease early. It worked for Chicago.

If New England can be in an actual Boston suburb and not halfway between Boston and Providence, I think it can work as long as they have it near an MBTA line. Public transport to and from the city is important. Also wouldnt mind seeing maybe one game a year at Fenway. Same with Chicago at Wrigley. I know we are trying to get out of the baseball stadiums, but these are historic sports venues, who also have a history with soccer. I think we can do a game for the charm of the old venues. If anything it would be promotional, like how San Jose has done with games at Levis, or the Classico at Stanford. I think if we can get Colorado back into Denver as soon as possible the better. I think we need to get Dallas out of Frisco. Dallas can work in a suburb but Frisco is the wrong one. Maybe get them into Arlington with the Cowboys, Rangers, and not to mention their 2 team is already there. If we can get Philly into Philly as well that would be good. Chester is okay for a training facility but not an actual stadium. Im not sure about Kansas City though. I think they can hold their own being over in Kansas, plus none of the other KC teams are located in downtown KC. I think Salt Lake does just fine in Sandy, and the Galaxy might as well just stay in Carson. LA has gone to LAFC.
