All games would be played in the parking lot of the now Desert Diamond Arena.

I knew this league would be a joke just based on the number of teams it started with.
It’s a lot deeper than that. Three teams in Kansas, a team in South Dakota, a team in Montana, and the Oregon team in freaking Salem for a supposedly national league. Not to mention the Philly team in Trenton.
BTW, still waiting on word of that California team in Bakersfield…

Something tells me it's not the wisest decision to get yourself suspended for six months for a positive drug test when you're tied for your team's lead in playoff goals.

How do sprinkles relate to Vin Scully or the “It’s Time for Dodgers Baseball” hashtag?
Hence my stating that we need the Nike-speak. I’m sure there’s some three-dimensional chess reasoning for it but right now we have nothing. If it wasn’t for the red I would have thought it was the iconic seat colors.

Ok, definitely needing to wade through the Nike speak on the Dodgers’ leak because as a life-long Angeleno, at first glance I have no idea where they were going with this. Then again, I still don’t get where the black trim on version 1 came from.

What's with the birthday cake ice cream speckles? I'm honestly shocked they just haven't gone the way the Clippers went.
Do they have a large segment of the fanbase that would be alienated by such a design?
It just seems like Los Angeles has so much culture and the Dodgers are on their way to whiffing again, but there may be references here that go over my head because I'm not a local. I do like the LAD logo.
The hashtag is the one thing that’s obvious considering it references Vin Scully’s most famous catchphrase.
And, yes, old English look is definitely targeting a certain portion of the fanbase that other portions aren’t thrilled to be grouped with. Especially for the Dodgers since it’s targeting the type that tend to assault people in the parking lots.

And thus spells the end of the Utah Snow Misers dream.

And now Vegas has the whole offseason to diagnose Mark Stone with another LTIR-eligible ailment. Lupus this time around?

Under Baker, the AFL's team values were at their highest, as was its players' pay. Most important of all, public awareness of the league was at its peak, with the games on NBC.
Now that MLS has firmly established itself as the fifth major league, we should remember that the AFL, with its array of solid and credible owners, was well ahead of MLS, and appeared to be on the verge of attaining that status.
This was no fairy tale. It was a reasonable gamble, one which for quite a while looked likely to pay off. The fact that the NFL ultimately did not buy into the Arena League — as most observers believed would eventually happen — is not the fault of Baker, who got the league to its pinnacle.
It was a great run.
And lest we forget...

I’d love to know who blinked there. Chicago didn’t have an attendance dip but they were horrid with a bunch of retreads.

Congratulations, Arte. Let’s see how much you love baseball now that the best player in your lineup is Logan Freaking O’Hoppe. Ain’t karma a :censored:?

So, if this is how AFL 3.0 is starting, when we get to AFL 5.0 every team’s going to share a lease with a Spirit Halloween Store, aren’t they?

The problem with the Phoenix market that doesn't get mentioned nearly enough... if all the market needed was a great owner to come in on a white horse, you'd think that with the revolving door of owners that the team had and even with the team being sold by the league itself from the clearance rack that somebody with more business acumen than Bob Kazamakis would have put in an offer. It's not just the market from an infrastructure standpoint. Nobody wants to buy into it and the only reason Meruelo is still involved at this point is that he needs an anchor for his sports betting grift.

The NCAA-ification of the NFL is a real drag.
And I don't even hate the Texans, especially if they hold tight to actual home and away designations.
But all of these uniform combos and billions of helmets; it cheapens the game to me.
It really is an odd change in a league that treats a helmet as a logo in and of itself (and not just in the Cleveland Browns fashion).

Apparently the McNall/Pocklington deal was a satanic blood pact that's come due and the Kings are now destined to wilt to the Oilers in the first round until Gretzky's franchise value has truly been repaid.

If the leaks are true, Houston should have just ran with the horn theme. The navy one screams generic Sears catalog from 1987 with the team logo as a sleeve patch and no striping.
