I doubt it. The IOC delegates the tournaments to the sports' respective bodies and teams where the same jersey designs at the various tournaments between the Olympics.  The only difference is the federation logo will be on the non-Olympic jerseys.

I'm excited about the women's national teams being added to NHL 22 but I wonder if it will be all IIHF teams. Will I actually be able to play as Mexico, North Korea, or New Zealand?

Unfortuneately no. It's only the IIHF teams that were already on the game that have the updated jerseys. I would LOVE to see that in the NHL series but I think that would end up being quite the task with all of that... I do remember though way back in 2007 I had NHL08 for PC and I ended up downloading a bunch of addons that replaced a bunch of the AHL teams with all of the IIHF nations with correct jerseys at the time as well as up to date rosters. It was cool as well because I played with a few of the New Zealand Ice Blacks when I lived down there and it was funny seeing their names in the game.

  2. On a side note with these, EA Sports and the IIHF signed an agreement and now all the national teams that are on NHL22 have the licensed federation jerseys. They will also have the World Junior tournament on there as well as the men's and women's world championship teams on there as well.

I think it would be cool if they included the Olympic jerseys on there as alternates but the IOC may have an issue with that.

And that’s why it’s going to probably wind up in Houston. On a surface-level economic analysis, it makes sense. Houston is the New York of the South and Quebec City was only bigger than Green Bay as far as Big 4 markets went by 1994. On paper, even if hockey is behind the Houston Dynamos, there will still be more fans of the Houston Coyotes or whatever they wind up being called over the Newdiques no matter how fervent that fanbase will be. Also, there’s a big elephant that the Nordiques logo totally looks like

      Reveal hidden contents

at least that’s what I thought as a kid

in the room. Quebec City is virtually monolingual in French. It’s why Eric Lindros demanded a trade from Quebec when he was drafted. Now, having a salary cap is going to make the Newdiques a more sustainable situation than last time but the small market and the language barrier will be there no matter how rich Quebecor is.

As far as Kansas City? The closest we’re going to get to that is if Lamar Hunt Jr decides to buy the team in bankruptcy court because he balked at the price of an expansion team back in 2017. And if Houston completely falls through.

Actually from his interview a few years ago, he had no issue with the team or Quebec. His issue was with Marcel Aubut who owned the team... at least that's what Lindros said.

  4. Quebec City seems the most logical choice. This seems a lot like the Jets situation with a willing owner and an 18 000 NHL ready arena already built and run by by the owners who want the team.  Quebecor Media also has the French broadcasting rights for the NHL through TVA Sports so it would make the most sense to relocate there. Move the Jackets back west to take the Coyotes spot in the Central Division, the Nordiques play in the Atlantic Division and one of either Boston, Florida or Tampa to the Metropolitan Division... But this is a Bettman run NHL so logic doesn't apply.

  5.

The Coyotes have been in the Phoenix area for 25 years and have never been in the black (full disclosure, this was information that was reported when the Coyotes were for sale back in 2011 when they were rumored to be heading back to Winnipeg). From a sport financial point of view, if you haven't made money in 25 years in , shouldn't you pull the plug and relocate to a city that will make you money?  I can't imagine that an owner of a sports team would want to continue to lose money like this. This has got to be showing Bettman's arrogance over the entire Phoenix situation and how much control he actually has on this... And after reading the article on Wikipedia about the WHA Aeros trying to get into the NHL over the Whalers, Jeremy Jacobs was the one who didn't want Houston in the NHL. If he didn't want them then, can't imagine he wants them now... He's also the one who is the biggest opposition of the NHL returning to Quebec City.

  8. Adidas accidently posted the new Super Rugby kits for the New Zealand based teams a day before the official reveal... So now we get to see them early as well.

Highlanders home and away. They have finally done away with the green alternate kit after a few years and have gone back to their original alternate strip colour of burgandy to represent the Southland region.

Sweden just released their jerseys. They look great.

Pretty much what we all expected from Sweden. Even with the previous template they kept those geometric shape design colours the same as the jersey.

  10. I find it odd that Canada and the USA are the only ones that get third jerseys in the Olympics. I realize there is probably merchandise money behind the decision but still, I would mind seeing some other nations get a crack at a third jersey.

  11. Personally I don't mind them at all. Its a more traditional look than what they had the last Olympics and what a lot of teams carried over. Canada, I believe, was the lone hold out who refused to go to that template over the last 4 years. This one seems like they will use this template going forward for the next 4 years until the next Olympics. At least we are seeing more variety with jerseys this go around than we did in Korea.

Are both the Fijians and Pasifikas playing home games in Australia?

Moana Pasifika are playing their games at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland.

Fijian Drua are going to be based out of Suva but due to the COVID stuff, they will be playing out of New South Wales in Australia for the 2022 season.
