  1. The 'B' is nice, but overall it all feels generic to me. As someone else mentioned, the bird logo has too much empty space, and I'm not a fan of it being purple since one of the most defining characteristics of ravens is that they're black. I think you should think in terms of totally blowing up the current branding, instead of making tweaks.
  2. I just found this thread in doing research for my own OHL concepts, and I think it's some really great work; well researched and presented. Your philosophy and opinions are much like my own. My favorites so far are your Mississauga (that M mark is just amazing) and North Bay (another great logo and very effective way to avoid using that putrid olive green). Here's hoping you pick this series up again soon!
  3. I'm assuming this is the new Indonesian authentic that retailers will have; no way the replicas will feature chain stitching. Quite lame that it has that Adidas button.
  4. I think the most underrated great thing about the new jerseys is how the hem stripes all follow the curve of the hem. It was always a big pet peeve of mine with the Edge that teams with straight hem stripes had that awkward orange slice-shaped chunk of fabric below the stripes. Before After
  5. I was hoping I could edit my reply before anyone read that. *facepalm*
  6. Wow, bummer, I guess that Icethetics Oilers leak was legit.
  7. The bottom line to me is the Preds' uniforms need to be bulldozed, not gently massaged. They have a nice color scheme, but the rest of their identity is crap.
  8. Are you suggesting they wear 1995 Blues uniforms?
  9. Don't hold your breath; there will probably be a "top 40 goals of 3 years ago" list thrown in there before they get to it.
  10. Damn, thought I was the only one here with a Dr. Strangelove avatar...
  11. I'd like to see the RANGERS script properly spaced again, after Reebok had to squish it in because they couldn't figure out how to make a jersey without a seam in the way.
  12. Haha. As a Hawks fan I've never been a fan of the 1997 Broncos-ripoff collar Reebok was using as their default. I don't mind the new one so much, as long as they don't do the white-in-front-black-in-back thing
  13. Switching the numbers from gold to white is a very significant change to me, considering the team has had gold numbers on their regular blue jerseys since their inception. This is the epitome of change for change's sake, and it really makes them not look like the Blues anymore. The jersey also loses a lot of warmth.
  14. Hello gang. I haven't posted here in some time and it's been even longer since I ran a concept. Suffice it to say that will be changing. I digress.... I submitted my first VGK prediction to Icethetics a couple weeks ago: http://www.icethetics.co/concepts/2017/6/1/twenty-days-to-go I based the striping on the leaked draft cap, and created the custom number typeface based on the style of the wordmark. I included the Adidas striping down the sides, a la the WCH jerseys, because I figured Adidas would want to make a splash with a new team, a team with no tradition to uphold. I have since made a few modifications in light of all the sneak peaks of the last few days. It's clear not many teams are making drastic changes, and more teams will likely look the same save for the Adidas template/logo/fancy shoulder ANTI-COUNTERFEITING Dot Technology®™. I removed the stripes down the sides and carried the hem striping all the way around (fingers crossed), reversed the sleeve striping so the black comes down from the shoulders (more closely with the striping on the draft cap) and used the pants convention that everyone else who saw that dubious pixelated email mockup followed. Lastly, I went for broke with a metallic gold helmet, which IMO would be totally rad and I'm starting to think could actually be possible (check out the pics from the newly-opened team store)
  15. Looks similar to my earlier attempt, obviously you were heavily influenced by the leaked draft cap too.... http://www.icethetics.co/concepts/2017/6/1/twenty-days-to-go
  16. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought this. You have a good start though. Also, trying to include so many flourishes from the ASG branding (stars, guitar inlay shapes, spurs on the teeth) is ambitious but might ultimately be over-complicating things. The focus gets blurred and one needs a few moments to orient themselves with the different parts of the head. Simplifying and removing some of the ornaments should lead to a simpler and more recognizable logo. Sens—again, a good start and nice execution of the logos. I would lose the sublimated patterns on the helmet, and I'm not feeling the gold and cream together on the home jersey. Also, I'd like to see a back view of the jersey for all these. The pairing of a good number typeface is a very big (and seemingly underrated) part of the uniform design process for me.
  17. The primary logo at the top dominates the design; I don't think it's even necessary.
  18. I think Tyree is excluded due to the fact that he was a one-catch wonder with NY, and got cut the year after making that epic catch.
  19. So I might be a moron, but can someone point me to an .ai vector template of the RBK Edge hockey player, the one modeled after Crosby? the only templates I can find here are .svg, and all the vector links are 5 years old and no longer working. thanks guys
  20. Weird, I dunno why but I coulda sworn I remembered a white version of that jersey.... I don't think that thing looked so bad in a vacuum, but like McHale said, didn't look like the Tigers.
  21. I also forgot, but they used to have a different road hat/helmet with the tiger crawling logo and an orange bill: hat helmet Still lookin for the jersey...
