  1. Decided to take a shot at Sockman & make my own version...mixed some old with some new & got this.
  2. By the looks of these it seems like the Red Sox have already updated their sockman logo. There is however a slightly different version of him as seen on the pennant below. Might take a stab at that version.
  3. Most Definitely mcrosby! Glad you decided to add your vintage logo updates on here, which are great by the way. Good stuff from you as always.
  4. Good gravy. The Penn State video is awesome. Although I've been using the pen tool for a while, I'm still trying to get the hang of it. So this video is very helpful. If nothing else, it at least lets me know I'm not doing things way off the mark. By the way, using the pen tool in a Penn State video... even more genius. Thanks JDP! good to know you find the video helpful. I've bee using the pen tool for as long as I can remember, It's how I learned when I started using Illustrator & I'm self taught. So if using the pen tool is wrong...I don't wanna be right, LOL
  5. Thanks tv15, not sure if u saw it or not but the Penn State pic is 1 or 2 pages back.
  6. Go for it derschwigg! I never took a shot at that one cause they have an updated version but if you've got ideas for it by all means...Thanks!
  7. Yes, I was meaning to do it just haven't had a chance with work & all. Will post them both soon.
  8. GeauxColonels, It's good to know video is helpful & offers some insight for you.
  9. Well, finally got my video card so went ahead & made the 2nd part to my video. This was my first time using ezvid to do my screen capture so it seemed easy enough but didn't realize it only recorded a max of 10 min at a time therefore once done it automatically cropped my video. A little disappointed with that but had to work with what it didn't hack, hopefully it still turned out ok for you guys. Thanks for watching!
  10. I was about to say. That was ridiculously good. I thought you were straight drawing everything just by looking at the image next to you. Regardless, I know a lot of people in my major who can't even do what you just did. Can't wait for part 2 I actually do freehand all the logos, it's just the initial outline of the original that I trace to use as a base & to reduce some of the time it would normally take if I drew it just by looking at it. Especially when doing so many...it's just one of the methods I use to make it less time consuming. Hope that makes sense.
  11. Yes, I already have the drawing laid out real light for the video. If I recorded the process from start to finish it would be too long. Just wanted to give everyone a general idea of how I go about doing these. No, I do all my work in Illustrator using the mouse. Tried using one a long while back but just couldn't get comfortable with it, who knows maybe someday I'll try one again.
  12. Thought I'd provide the original logo for anyone who might not be familiar with it & THANK YOU ALL! for the positive feedback to the video.
  13. Hey guys, A while back I was asked about doing a time lapse video in regards to these vintage logos. I had been hesitant in doing so, due to the fact my video card in my computer needs to be replaced, but seeing derschwigg post some videos helped convince me to give it a shot. So I went ahead & did one using a little Sony cyber shot camera but once it's converted it loses some of it's quality. I'm posting it, but if you guys feel the quality is just not good enough please let me know & I will remove it. I have to do it in 2 parts if not the video would be too long! This one is over 2 min alone. Once again I apologize for the poor quality of the video. I won't post part 2 until I get my video card issue taken care of. Hope you guys like it. Thanks!
  14. Had a little time after a day of training & certification so worked this one into the day.
  15. Thank You, Appreciate that! Awesome! But is there any chance we can see it with gold instead of white?
  16. Wow, what a surprise! A very kind gesture from everyone here who felt I deserve this award and with so many talented individuals on these forums...this is quite an honor. Thank you!!
  17. I've got a lot on my plate right now, it will be a while before I get back to this thread. As I mentioned earlier I have several paying projects along with work related training going on. Thanks you guys again for continued support & interest in this thread!
