i hope the NWHL doesn't end up like the WNBA (with the league staying alive well past the point the plug should have been pulled). the WNBA (while i dont mind the idea of a women's basketball league) the only reason it is still around is that the NBA gives it money to stay around (if it was like the other women's basketball leagues in the past, the league would have gone under years ago). does the NHL give the NWHL money by the way.

which for a start up league, sound like the right size.

not that i have a problem with the NWHL or WNBA. the issue is that the (in case of the WNBA) that the NBA should run the league for a few years or so (when it started out) and then let it run itself (with the league not giving money but running some of the day to day things). the WNBA should be playing in arena's that can fit the crowd size. does the NWHL play in small arena's.

does the NHL give money to the NWHL. i hope this doesn't end up like the WNBA. that plug should have been pulled years ago.

I think Québec City's price tag was $400M (when the US and Canadian dollars were fairly equal), and I believe their arena is going to be slightly larger than the Vegas one, so it seems like the right price range. and Quebec arena will be sold out (or near that) even if the team they get is bad. Vegas might end up being worse then Phoenix or Florida when it come to attendance. plus there is a little issue in Vegas/Nevada (i think you all might have heard of it) called gambling (might be a little issue since Rick Tocchet)

i think the NBA, and NHL should only have Eastern and Western Conference. would have the top 8 teams (in each conference) in the playoffs (no more under .500 teams in the NBA playoffs or like in the old days of the NHL, the weaker division be 3rd place in the playoffs) . would also just have an AL and NL in MLB (no divisions) and woud have the top 5 teams, in each league, (would have a 4 vs 5 play in game) in the playoffs (so we wont have a team around .500 in the playoffs taking away from a better team).

i think there should just be (maybe try it out for a few years and see where it goes) and just just and AFC and NFC with no divisions. would have the top 6 teams in the AFC and NFC make the playoffs (wont have teams at 8-8 or under .500 in the playoffs taking the place of a team with a winning record). each team would get to choose one team from there old division who they would play to play home and away (say washington vs dallas home and away).

if the IIHF the event instead of the NHL.

i think there should be a real world cup of hockey have 16 teams in it (with every iihf nation being able to play in it). would have it in the usa and canada (they would qualify automatically) and would have the rest of the top 8 ranked iihf teams (at the time) automatically qualify for it and the rest must qualify for. would be the years of the summer olympics.

but for how long?
