Check out #74. I thought something was off about the video, but it seems like the 7 lost the black part of the number
I think they should experiment with a two different coloured numbers when there is a double digit number.

The question is whether Gord wants to leave TSN for the top national NBC job. Gord also does some regional TSN broadcasts, world juniors and world championships.

I admit, I totally ignored the Mariners after the hot start, and only noticed their record since when they traded Encarnaçion.

There's your winner. Lost $250 million dollars, and that's 1950s dollars. Today's equivalent would be over $200 Billion dollars. A financial failure, and a failure in every other respect.
Well, it's more like two billion dollars. But still a colossal failure nonetheless.

One thing I found it interesting while watching the Lightning-Red Wings game. Since the Pistons moved into Little Ceasars Arena that it also meant a banner for former owner Bill Davidson is hung in the rafters. He was also the owner of the Lightning. I can't think of another arena that has something that honours two former NHL owners at the same time.

Move the Rays to St. Louis, then we'll see if St Louis really has the best fans in baseball..

TSV 1860 Muenchen.
Former Bundesliga champion now relegated (TWICE) this year. First for losing the relegation playoff after finishing 2. Bundesliga in 16th place, and relegated further for failing to pay for the 3. Liga license.
Does that mean they're in the level as their reserve team?

Yeah, the entire roster, including his son!Bonkers story coming out of the OHL tonight. The Flint Firebirds, playing their inaugural season, won 4-3 in overtime over Oshawa. After the game, ownership fired the entire coaching staff. In response, the entire roster quit.
EDIT: Apparently the owner canned the coaches because they weren't giving his son enough playing time. This is wonderful.

My goodness, that thing really is HUGE. I think it looks fantastic. The blue lattice work around the face is a great touch. Reminds me of The Oracle.
Interesting you mentioned that because look on the INSIDE portion of the ring.

I've been to California, I'm going in a couple weeks, and I like California! I just didn't want the AHL there.
I'm not sure how long it will be there, which is the other issue with this. The L.A. teams will do well with their affiliates, but Calgary basically shouldn't be allowed to have an AHL team, Edmonton hasn't torched all that many markets, but has had a run that consisted of
1 year in Edmonton itself (strike year arena date filler-franchise goes dormant after that)
1 year timeshare with Montreal in Hamilton, Montreal calling the shots
1 year PROSPECTS SCATTERED TO THE WINDS
3 years in Springfield-uninspiring results which include not making the playoffs at all and keeping the market on a slow slow slow burn to destruction
5 years of sitting back and watching the slow painful death of what was once one of the best markets in minor league hockey (Yes, the Thunder play a major role here, but the Barons never took off.)
Meanwhile San Jose doesn't torch markets, but has an organizational disdain for running an effective minor league organization and developing young talent except as trade bait for some aging NHL player that stands as an ironic counterpoint to the fact that they were the team that complained the most about the lack of California teams.
So yeah, 3 of the 5 teams are on shaky foundations. This experiment could end very badly.
oh yeah ... and that one year in Toronto as well ...

And that's really good news.
The NHL likes prospective owners that can play ball and keep their mouths shut.
I just had a similar thought... Only replace the NHL with I and owners with wife...
And ladies, quadival is stunningly, like the Coyotes, still available.
... and I don't take $25 million a year from the city.

Nassau Coliseum is so bad they should put it inside Candlestick Park when they implode that sucker.
But what does that have do do with the city of Glendale passing their budget on June 12 to allow another set of millions to be paid to the NHL?

A post from HFboards by someone who purports to be a teacher:
Basic math says that 40 games X 12,000 people is actually more people than are served by the libraries. And even the best library on the planet isn't really making money for the city. I often go out to dinner at Westgate before a game - I can't say I've ever viewed the library as that sort of 'event' destination that makes me spend money.Arizona is weird
yeah... I can't believe the millions of dollars the librarians are making...
