We've also had one of those in this Chiefs dynasty they're in the midst of right now and it sucks, though, 2021 is great solace. It is nice to at least have that.
All of 2022 was annoying from my perspective because it was like the Bills got more credit for almost beating the Chiefs in 2021 than the Bengals got for actually beating the Chiefs. Didn't make sense to me.
It's all narrative stuff. The world wasn't primed for the Bengals to be good, so it didn't count.
It's why Lamar Jackson is about to win an MVP although Brock Purdy or Josh Allen would be better candidates. Narrative bias.

I can't just drag an image in this forum as easily as I should, but I saw a Tweet with a list that shows recent failures of this with the following teams:
2007 Chargers2009 Jets
2009 Vikings
2010 Jets
2010 Bears
2014 Colts
2015 Cardinals
2017 Jaguars
2019 Titans
2020 Bills
2020 Packers
Depends on what you mean by "back." Those Bills haven't lost their division since. Last season their teammate died on the field. This year they were missing 7 defensive starters and lost by 3.
I know I'm being a fanboy some of these things are not like the others.

If it weren't for the Bengals the Chiefs would be in their fifth straight super bowl. You're welcome, America.
And bless your team for doing it.
My team only ever gets the consolation prize of playing them close and almost winning.

Probably the best offensive year of basketball we’ve ever seen.
Wonder if they’ll try to nerf it with some new rules/emphasis, or if 70 points becomes the new 50.
Let's take a look at FTA. 16 feels like a lot. Embiid had 24 the other night.

He’s some hack, dart-throwing gambler/engagement farmer on Twitter. Kind of unrelated to the faux outrage he’s always peddling, but I remember LeBatard making fun of him for going 1-15 on his picks one week.Listen, this story reinforces my existing biases and emotions so I'm going to believe it without any standard of proof. Okay? It's my right as an American voter.

This :censored:ing league.
I was really bummed about the Bills and the. They double down.
If our Congress wasn't either worthless or paid off, there's probably something to be done about the influence of gambling in the sport. Because, come on. They don't really even try to hide it.

JFC. Karl Towns had 62 with 10 3s and only 14 FTs.
Embiid is averaging 12 FTs a game. Shaq and LeBron dreamed for that kind of whistle.

70 for Embiid. Sixers franchise record.
21-23 free throws!

Fire McDermott. He's blown all of these games and he's not big enough for the moment.
I used to think it was better when my team was part of the national conversation rather than playing a string of 1 pm Sunday games, but this is brutal.

Once all the other home teams won I knew that was it.

This game has descended into tomfoolery.

Why did the clock get reset before that bogus PI and why did they make up a bogus PI?
This is the :censored: that looks fishy

Based on what the announcers were saying, he may not even have known they were going to do that since it may have been an automatic-audible due to there only being 10 men on defense. (Assuming you're talking about what would have been a ridiculous fake to call in that situation.)
I was. I guess so.
Still, it looked dumb as hell. They got bailed out in a huge way. They shouldn't expect any other miracles.

Fire McDermott. He's ever going to be the guy.

Not guaranteeing a win, but this Bills team can punch back. I've watched a lot of years where it felt like one bad break would ruin their chances.
(Narrator voice: he waited until after the Bills went up 24-20 to post this)
I just noticed there haven't been any turnovers this game.
Putting that out to reverse jinx it.
Hope the Bills D shows up in the final quarter.

Bills could always use another lineman. Come back, Kelce. There's space for you. We do the tush push and everything.
Bills are up, KC has the ball and I have a pit in my stomach.

No, they finished 1-6 (including the loss to TB.)
You guys have more right to want to dump your winning coach than we do with McDermott.
You can tell when the players quit on a coach. It's happening with the Lakers right now and it's happened already with the Eagles.
Siriani isn't owed a head coaching spot. If he wants to be an :censored: to players and do things his own way, I'm sure Temple would take him no problem.

When you're right you're right.
I almost don't want to watch the Bills game tomorrow. Especially when Detroit wins. One road team should win this weekend and I can't take it if it's KC again.

Detroit is about to make the Super Bowl, aren't they.

This is the SI I ever bought for myself:
I was a huge Vlad fan in the late 90s. I was hoping for big things for him and the Montreal Expos.
-
Childhoods? Not even. SI was as mainstream a publication as existed for generations. My dad used to get that and Inside Sports. I had a subscription as a young adult myself, alongside ESPN the Magazine.
I've had random SI subscriptions start and stop over the years, as recently as 2021. SI used to be a great place, especially during football season, to read recaps of the prior week's games. Obviously that's no longer necessary, but it was nice when it was a good source.
SI.com was good for a while too when it had its own reporting staff. MMQB was destination writing every Monday for years. What a shame they couldn't make it work.

Siakam is probably a good get for this particular Pacers team. Three firsts is overpaying for him and whatever contract they throw at him this summer will probably also overpay, but what else are they gonna do? They're playing with house money, which is the only way they'll compete these days, so you may as well.
I like the trade for Indiana and Toronto. The Pacers are a buyer's market, and they overpaid.
Not sure what's in it for New Orleans though

Not gonna share the details, but some of them online mania surrounding the implications of this Super Bowl and Taylor Swift have me rooting for the Chiefs.
