I'll be sad to see them go. Nice identity overall, especially the original set. I've still got the original white jersey tucked away somewhere.

^ Gary Bettman is Commissioner of the NHL. Any American city with a guy who says he might be interested will take precedent to a Canadian city with a complete ownership group, arena plans, season tickets sold and uniforms already manufactured.
Winnipeg.
Were there any other real options at that point though? The cities that had arenas (KC, Houston, etc.) had no interest whatsoever in a team. Seattle wasn't in the mix yet.

For hockey, I realize that they want Pittsburgh in with Philly and Washington, but wouldn't it be more logical to bump Columbus and Pittsburgh to the Northeast; and Florida and Tampa Bay to the Atlantic?

This reminds me of back in 2002 when the NFL realigned, some columnist on some site recommended that the NFL realign based on team names
It went more or less like this:
Birds division: Eagles, Falcons, Ravens, Cardinals
Cats: Lions, Panthers, Bengals, Jaguars
Barnyard animals: Rams, Colts, Chargers, Broncos
Historical: Chiefs, Redskins, Patriots, Cowboys
Mythological: Giants, Titans, Vikings, Saints (I realize Vikings and Saints are/were real)
Industrial: Steelers, Jets, Packers, 49ers
Aquatic: Bucanneers, Raiders, Dolphins, Seahawks
Leftover: Browns, Bills, Bears, Texans

Out of curiousity, what's the Yotes attendance during the playoffs been?
-
If this team was in Kansas City, Pittsburgh or Baltimore, where the fans are loyal but hungry for a winning team, they would sell out every single night.
Are there any cities with an MLB-ready baseball stadium? I don't think there is.
But as far as markets, I think that Portland is the only realistic option, they just have to build a park.
Vancouver would be nice, but I understand the MLB's reluctance to try Canada again.

I'm just curious to what their attendance was for the last 10 or so games of the year and the 2 playoff games. This season should have seen a huge spike, especially at the end, considering they beat out the team that 'stole' their superstar in Carl Crawford, the Red Sox.
