Dipping into European soccer:
Only one player has ever scored a hat trick in domestic competition against a team managed by Pep Guardiola. Its Jamie Vardy, and he's now done it twice.

Man oh man Whitlock sucks

Really don't get the Halladay decision. He had two great years, one bad one, and one terrible one with Philadelphia, and he didn't even win a World Series. Even four great years would be borderline.

Also, while only two great years, he did have the perfect game and playoff no-hitter while with them, and got his true national exposure.
It also probably helped that Bryce Harper turned down the number and pushed them to retire it.
EDIT: He's a weird case. Obviously he had HOF cred with the Blue Jays, but he had his biggest moments while with the Phillies, and while he was only hear 4 seasons he "feels" like a Phillie (to a Phillie fan). There's countless great players that pass through and never really connect. Hell - there's great players that play their whole careers here and don't connect. There was something different about him that (I really hate saying this) you really need to have been here to 'get'. We claim half of him.
I know I'm late to this discussion, but speaking as someone with no connection to Philadelphia the fact he was a Phillie for "only" four years surprises me, it feels it was much longer than that.

Skip Bayless is an outdated, stick-up-his-ass, moron whose entire schtick is "what if internet trolling, but on TV ". The sooner he goes away, the sooner literally everyone's life will improve.

NDSU is a elite program nobody talks about, so I think they go in the Big Ten.
Lol no.
Asides from anything else, the Big Ten cares enough about academics to have been majorly antsy about the fact Nebraska got removed from the AAU on basically a technicality, there's no way they're even considering North Dakota State.

A couple of years back of SBNation wrote a whole bunch of stuff for the 10 year anniversary of that season on how bat- :censored: weird all of it was, which was pretty enjoyable

Also, "organic-sounding" is just elitist gobbledy(I am racially insensitive) used by American-style name fans used to demean teams that follow the rest of the world's lead. It's also a fun statement used by "Class of '96" fans to insult supporters of newer teams (that have their crap together from founding).
Is this the boards mistaking the ending of the word gobbledy(I am racially insensitive) for a slur or something you've done?
EDIT
- It is the boards, same as how they can't tell the middle of english soccer team Sc*nthorpe United isn't someone swearing.

That Gwinnett temp logo looks like an unlicensed league logo from an OOTP game

Assuming that it would be kept in Asia, I think Japan almost certainly has enough in place to host on a shortened lead up, maybe China and maybe Australia

That is a problem far from specific to The Ringer, unfortunately

Just for the record, the Isles organ guy played "Brass Bonanza" at the game tonight. Either because they were playing Carolina or because he has a great sense of humor.

If the Hurricanes relocate to Quebec City in a foreseeable future, I think that there would be an anti-climax effect similar to the exit of the old Cleveland Browns to Baltimore where it became the Ravens, and then there would be former Canes players (i.e. Rod Brind'Amour) appealing to commissioner Bettman to the Canes becoming the NHL's 32nd team, but this time an expansion team.
Its completely and utterly ludicrous to try and compare the Hurricanes to the original Browns.
The Hurricanes actually won something.

It comes up if you use the search function to search for a specific member, allowing you to limit your search to only people in chosen groups

Admittedly I gave on following this circus. I just thought the eye roll over EA's decision was ridiculous. They have to worry about their own asses and were in no way contractually obligated to have Kane on there in the first place so removing him really wasn't a big deal.
So just accuse a person of something, then sit back and enjoy how that person loses everything, without being found guilty ? Your co worker or neighbour could be plotting stuff right now . America yeah !
Oh, please. Yes being on the NHL cover is a cool thing to have, but its ultimately kinda small beans for a guy as high up in his sport and earning as much money as Kane is; he's still in the NHL and has had very little change to his contract/employment status so has nowhere near 'lost everything'.
-----
I'm with EA on this one, yes they removed Kane from the cover over an ultimately unproven accusation, but it would have been WAY worse all round if they'd gone with a wait and see approach and ended up with a convicted rapist emblazoned all over their video game

the "Whopper," which was an Italian sausage and meatball sandwich with marinara, mozzarella, and peppers. Mercy.

It's similar in the NFL relocation thread (although there it's usually pizza), every so often in the absence of actual news a discussion about food just starts up

Owning Packers stock had a strange effect on me - I grew an extra set of eyes in the back of my head and I can now read the thoughts of calico cats
Really? Huh, I guess I should look into some Packers stock next time it comes available; is it only calico cats this works with or would I be able to sneak into the head of, say, a Siamese?
My best guess is it happened in high school shortly after I sacrificed a blue ribbon winning goat I found at the county fair to Blitzen, the most evil of Santa's reindeerForget Blitzen, it's Comet you gotta watch out for. That one's real sneaky!
I ended up leaving my buddy alongside the road in New Castle PA. He was drunk and annoying me. He still hasn't been foundThat's the kind of thing you're probably best off not talking about.
See, at least someone reads all this

From my mother's side of the family: Mets, Islanders & the fact that I will always have a soft spot for Army football
From my English father: Liverpool FC, as well as a general interest in rugby & the fact that Formula 1 is my favorite motorsport
From me: Carolina Panthers. I can barely remember it now, but apparently at the time of the '95 expansion 3-year old me decided it would be to support an NFL team from the very beginning, and even back then I preferred the Panthers look to that of the Jaguars.
The NBA I don't really give a crap about in general. There was a point about 10 years ago were I sort of got into the Timberwolves, because of a combination of Kevin Garnett and those unis with the tree-collars, but my heart was never really in it

I wear a long, black coat as well, kind of like a greatcoat. Not as any sort of fashion statement just because I find it comfortable and, more importantly, warm.
It's all man-bun nowadays.
Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, I genuinely heard refer to their man-bun as a 'mun' the other day.

Yeah, the move to Brooklyn is all kinds of dumb, but trying to start writing it off based on attendance numbers for a preseason split-squad game is really jumping the gun.
