This is the perfect site for people like us. We can marvel at the wonders of our most hated rivals' uniforms while simultaneously hating them to their very core because they're evil cheaters or whatever.

Exactly... I'm a Florida fan who thinks Georgia has the best uniforms in college football.

To my knowledge I don't see much of the script Gators used in other sports... A long time ago I thought I would

The two sports I can think of off of the top of my head are softball and women's soccer.

The Gators script itself isn't a great logo but on the orange helmet, it's somewhat iconic, so I much prefer they stick with that helmet.  Plus, that orange helmet looks so good under the right lighting.  I'd be very much against them replacing it, as would most Gators fans, I imagine.

I mean, come on... That helmet is gorgeous.

Vinik was aided by being able to buy the Lightning and some real estate adjacent to the arena at fire-sale prices. The guy who bought the Stars just agreed to pay off Hicks's debt. It's the next best thing to inheriting a franchise like Rocky Wirtz did.

The extent of my knowledge of Vinik buying the team was from a recent Athletic article where he said he didn't know how to spend the billions he made from his hedge fund so he googled "how to buy a pro sports team."  He actually considered buying the Stars but didn't see himself fitting in with Cuban and Jones personality-wise.

The guy's a great owner, though, and has been great for the local community as well.

Wasn’t it a Yakuza group that founded the Bolts?

Also, we have to take into account the early ‘80s Cavs for worst-run organizations. The NBA had to enforce changes to trading rules because owner Ted Stepien traded away five consecutive years’ worth of first-round draft picks.

I'm not sure if the Yakuza association has been confirmed.  It was all really suspicious, though.  I don't remember all of the specifics but they were supposed to get funding from the Pritzker Group (Hyatt Hotels) but they backed out a few months before the franchise was awarded to Phil Esposito's group.  They sought to replace Pritzker's $50m and a relatively small Japanese golf resort company named Kosukai Green paid the franchise fees and basically forced the rest of the ownership out.  At some point it was revealed they were owned by Takashi Okubo, which surprised everyone.  And also, he may or may not exist.

It's all falling apart, my friends. Can't even react to a global pandemic like a human lest Skeletor calls you a LOLcat.

EDIT: Guess what "LOLcat" is an autocorrect for!

Is that... a microwave behind the trashcan?

    Nothing confirmed...just speculating...

Northwestern FB tweeted about the 1995 season like 9 billion times this week...gotta think '95 throwbacks are coming for the 25th anniversary of Rose Bowl.

Also...I think this is just for retail only...but Gator throwback in the works?

I hope so.  I'm not crazy about the Gators in orange but that's a nice looking jersey.

Gus Johnson was perfect for March Madness because being a big goober is what March Madness is all about. HEARTBREAK CITY! But you can't be at a 10 all the time, because where do you go from there? (No one bother posting the Spinal Tap clip, I know and love the reference.)

I remember a clip of Gus doing NFL where he yelled "HE'S GOT RUN-FROM-THE-COPS SPEED!", which, well, probably won't be deploying that line again any time soon, huh.

Gus Johnson is perfect for a last second shot in the NCAA Tournament, but he calls a layup two minutes into the game with the same energy and it's just too much.  And really, nobody needs this in an Ohio State/Maryland game.

Oh yeah. Booger showed a ton of improvement. He was enthusiastic and learning on the job -- while being in a :censored:ing cherry picker!

Tess was a professional wrestling announcer doing football. It was exhausting to listen to.

Well, he wasn't in a cherry picker last year.  He was just terrible.  But in a booth.  I don't see what he brings to the table to ESPN at all, either for MNF or any of his other appearances.  I'd agree that Tessitore's style is better suited for when he covers boxing, but at least he doesn't fill time stating the obvious or just being flat out wrong.  Remember when Booger said the Bills should have ran a QB draw on 3rd and 10 and then spiked the ball to kick a FG?  I think knowing how many downs a team gets should be the bare minimum requirement for color commentating a football game.

  8. Thanks, maybe I'll try that tomorrow!

I basically watched the following video which makes working with watercolor look insanely easy and thought "I can do that!"  But clearly mine doesn't compare in the slightest bit.  I'll probably try again tomorrow night.  I think my biggest was making mine too blended together now that I look at it.

  9. I got a watercolor set (everything was in tubes, which was weird since I've only ever seen watercolors in palette form) for Christmas and decided to give it a try. I tried painting a night sky over mountains and I'm not completely disappointed with it.

I'm not saying watercolor is easy, but I was surprised at how decent my first attempt looks.  With that said, this is nowhere near as good as some of the watercolor work a google search would turn up and improving on this and making it look more detailed and getting it anywhere near the level of that other work seems impossible to do for me, so I think watercolors are very difficult.

Also, I used some relatively cheap brushes so you can see a few strands from the brush that shedded and ended up on the paper and the colors look slightly less vivid in the photo than on the actual work.

Sleeved basketball tops are far and away better looking than the traditional tank top look.

I agree with this when it has the team or city name over a number on the front like the sleeveless jerseys. I don't like when they have a giant team logo on the front like they often do.

  11. I'm not much of an artist but I'd like to put some time into it if I could only find the time.  I took an introductory art class to fill an art credit at my old school and for the last project we had to put two or more separate photos together and paint them with respect to a certain color grouping.  I chose the complementary colors orange and blue, using a photo of an iceberg, choppy seas, and an orange and gray sky and came up with this.

It's not perfect but for a first time painting, I'm pretty proud.  I think the left side of the water is pretty solid while the right side is pretty bad.

  12. I've come around.  I like the new features that I've seen.  My only gripe is the text at the top, which is kind of an eyesore and annoying on the mobile site, but I'm sure it will be replaced by a graphic before long.

And yeah, Cosmic, there used to be an ignore feature.
