Couldn't cut the mustard in the pros (in typical BB coaching tree fashion), ran away to the minor leagues.

Gary Kubiak or Doug Pederson winning 1 SB >>> Saban winning a dozen college titles

Took a 4-12 team to 9-7. Following offseason, the Dolphin's team doctor didn't clear despite Drew Brees so he got saddled with Culpepper instead.

    The last point is absurd.

  2. The Dolphins were 9-1 8-1 after the trade deadline, I believe, which is when any talk of trading for Deshaun Watson ended.  I don't know where Flores stood on Watson but that's a big distraction hanging over the team.

I hope the Broncos go after him. The NFL coaching carousel tends to be pretty depressing with all the retreads and unproven guys but I'd actually be excited for that move.

I think that's exactly right. Staley went for the very low-percentage win, when the at-the-moment high-percentage tie would have worked out great for both teams. The Raiders were playing along, up until the Chargers didn't.

The smartest boy in the room outsmarted himself, and now his players hate him (presumably).

The Chargers didn't not play along, though. They let the clock run down to where LV could still run the clock down after the third down play. They called a timeout a few seconds before the Raiders would've had to snap the ball.

The Chargers only chance at that point was a tie, so they called a timeout to put themselves in the best position to stop the Raiders on the next play.  It didn't work.

Do you think if Chargers didn't call a timeout and the Raiders snapped the ball two seconds later and still picked up ten yards that the Raiders wouldn't have kicked the FG?

No offense to the Bengals since they're who I want to win the SB, but the difference between a tie and win for the Raiders is playing the Chiefs (tie) or the Bengals (win). The Raiders were always going to conservatively go for the win.

I did not have 'Brain Flores Fired' anywhere near my Black Monday prediction sheet. Perhaps the Dolphins already have a replacement in mind? Someone currently residing in the state in Michigan?

Anyhow, yet another Belichick assistant bites the dust ✌️

Darlington says they're not targeting Harbaugh. I also think Ross said he won't be the one to pull Harbaugh from Michigan.

  5. I don't understand the criticism of the timeout.  It was with four seconds left on the playclock and less than 40 left on the game clock. It had zero impact on the actual clock situation.  The Raiders would have run a play with 34 or more seconds left on the clock regardless and, given the Chargers porous run defense, probably would have had the same result.  People are acting like the clock would have run down to zero if not for the timeout.

Letting the clock run down under 40 and taking a timeout was the obvious decision.

While I could see why he might think that,  I'd also assume there's some prep material somewhere that would have been given to him before the game that would have either confirmed or denied that assumption. PR and research exists for a reason.

LeBron had a pretty good post or quote about it saying just that... especially since the player he thought was his father played for Washington.  Still willing to chalk it up to the guy just not doing his job well, but who knows.

  7. I'm not sure this was an intentional eff up, but man... what an eff up.

The announcer, Glenn Consor, made the comment Wednesday during the Houston Rockets' game against the Wizards after Porter made a 3-point shot right before the buzzer went off.

"You’ve got to give credit. Kevin Porter Jr., like his dad, pulled that trigger right at the right time,” Consor said on the air, according to a video circulating on social media. "Boy, that one stung."

Several people, including the Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James, criticized Consor on social media because Porter's father, Bryan Kevin Porter Sr., pleaded guilty in the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old girl in 1993, USA Today reported. He was sentenced to 4½ years in prison.

Consor says he thought Kevin Porter Jr. was the son of a former Washington player, Kevin Porter.

This is by the far the best game I’ve seen the Chiefs play all year. Play like this on a regular basis and I think it’s safe to say that their demise has been quite exaggerated.

Seems like Mahomes was more willing to take what the defense gave him.  They looked good!  I really like Darrel Williams and it's a shame he's going to have to cede the top spot to CEH because he doesn't always look great running the ball but he does a lot of things really well. I also think CEH is a bit overrated.

The Raiders waste Waller so much. They need to be more creative with how they use him and get him open.

That whole crew tonight should never be allowed to officiate an NFL game again. I’ve never seen a ref purposely hit a player with his own body and then call a penalty on that player for “touching an official”.

    How absurd.

NFL refs have been downright awful for the last half decade but that was the most egregious example of it, and most unprofessional NFL ref, I’ve ever seen in my life.

Corrente has a reputation of being the worst NFL official and even he took that another level tonight. Disgraceful.

The penalty was for taunting, no?  It was still a ridiculous call and I'm not convinced it wasn't because of the contact, though.

Yeah, this guy needs to be fired.

Jfc... he's taunting the guy he's penalizing for taunting. Unreal.

Holy crap.  I have only ever moved that fast in an airplane.

Driving crimes are victimless. Until they're not.

I did the Richard Petty ride-along thing at Daytona a few years back and they apparently go 165 mph... but obviously on a closed track designed for those high speeds and faster.  I was just in a sort of passenger seat. I can't even comprehend actually driving a car that fast on a track, let alone through a city.

I really don't understands why The Browns insist on keeping Beckham. They've actually been a better team without him, ands honestly his trade stock has probably taken a hit with how little they have been using him.

Is he washed, or a re the Browns just failing to utilizing properly?

The latter. Honestly, I just don’t think Mayfield's particularly good.  Actually, I think he's really bad. When the Browns scored 40+ against LAC and OBJ only had three targets, John Kosko of PFF tweeted that him and Davante Adams get open ~72% of the time on routes 5+ yards downfield.

    And here's the All-22.

    Donte Stallworth confirms.

With Stallworth's case, the victim was jaywalking across a busy street.  That doesn't excuse Stallworth driving drunk, but:

    Quote

According to Florida's DUI manslaughter law, there are exceptions under what is called "causation" of an accident. In short, someone who is driving drunk and causes an accident is not necessarily responsible if the other party did something to contribute to the accident.

I'm no lawyer but I imagine a good one could've gotten him out of the manslaughter charge had it gone to trial.
