“I've been watching what's going on and [the Coyotes] are a very competitive franchise — they went to the conference final last year,” Mr. Pastor said in an interview. “But they can't catch a break, and if they don't soon, they'll probably leave the west and go to Winnipeg or Quebec.”

This new Coyotes owner must have borrowed Matt Hulsizer's fax machine that sends messages from the future of the past.

    The stupid! It burns!

  2. Here is one that I know I am the minority but I don't understand why. I think the Red Wings logo is horribly stupid. Dont give me auto industry crap. It isn't a car wheel. It is a motorcycle wheel. When I learned how they came about it, it made me hate it even more.

Car wheels can have spokes too.

  3. That's pretty neat, actually. And if it garners any extra tickets sold, it's better than none.

No matter what game you buy tickets to, you run the risk of the game being a stinker. I've driven 7 hours to Tampa (and 7 hours back, all in the same 24-hour span) to see the Thrashers lose 7-1, and I've driven 6 hours to Memphis directly after a full workday with the Thrashers for a UGA football bowl game the next afternoon, a game where the team wasn't too interested in playing the postseason game and lost 10-6 in what's easily the ugliest football game I've ever seen, either in person or on TV.

You must've not seen the PSU/Iowa game when I was a freshman at Penn State in 2004.

    Iowa 6, Penn State 4.

    No joke.

Holy crap, I can't believe you weren't kidding.

  4. And I disagree. They're good designs that have stood the test of time.

The Canadiens have had theirs, more or less, since 1917. The Blackhawks have had theirs, more or less, since 1955. Neither jersey has experienced significant changes since then. There's a reason why those jerseys have stayed largely the same while jerseys like the Canucks' V jerseys, the Islanders' fishsticks jerseys and the Burger King jerseys have been consigned to the history books.

Good designs last. They can't become traditional if they aren't good enough to stick around to be part of the tradition in the first place.
