  1. I've always been a fan of Hendrick Motorsports, but something was telling me all throughout the offseason that Larson wouldn't earn a victory in 2021 and would possibly struggle at times. Boy was I wrong. Happy for the team, and as @Dalcowboyfan92 mentioned, we'll see if Larson has actually changed. From the sit-down interviews and behind-the-scenes looks of what he's been up to since "the incident," it seems as if he has - but it's yet to be seen if potential sponsors agree. 

  2. In Truck Series news, Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis announced he would sponsor Grant Enfinger in the #9 Chevy Silverado this weekend at las Vegas:

    Since then, Lemonis offered $15k minimum to several unsponsored/under-funded teams for this weekend's race Several drivers hopped on Lemonis' offer on Twitter, and within the last 18 hours, multiple deals have been put together.

    Matt Weaver of Autoweek reported that up to a dozen trucks could be sponsored by Camping World this weekend. Jordan Anderson and Jesse Iwuji confirmed to have Camping World in their trucks - Anderson posted a teaser on his Twitter account, but no preview yet from Iwuji,

    Ya know, I wasn't a fan of the templated look at first, but Menards cars have really grown on me recently. I think some colors look better than others, but the current cars are solid compared to when Paul Menard was driving the 27.

  5. JTG Daugherty Racing unveiled the #47 Kroger/NOS Energy Chevy for Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. this morning...

     

     

    ...and Rookie of the Year contender Anthony Alfredo announced Dude Wipes will be joining him for six races this season on his #38 Ford Mustang for Front Row Motorsports:

     

     

  6. Spire Motorsports has unveiled a couple new designs for their #77 entry, with new sponsors General Formulations and MUTOH.com joining the organization.

    The #77 is expected to see multiple faces in its drivers seat, starting with former Daytona 500 winner Jamie McMurray at the season opener. Xfinity driver and 2019 Coke Zero 400 winner Justin Haley will rejoin the team on a part-time basis once again in 2021. 

     

    EDIT: According to Fox Sports' Bob Pockrass, Haley will drive the General Formulations car at Michigan and the MUTOH.com car at Phoenix. 

  7. With the Daytona 500 just over two weeks away and teams announcing their sponsors for the upcoming season, it seemed like a perfect time to go through some of this year's design changes.

     

    - GearWrench returns to Kurt Busch and the #1 Chevy of Chip Ganassi Racing with a minor tweak to last year's design.Image

     

    - The Blue Deuce returns, albeit with some changes. Molson Coors, the parent company of Miller Lite, has swapped the iconic sponsor in their lone race as a primary sponsor after over three decades. Brad Keselowski will drive the #2 Keystone Light Ford during the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Keselowski's Discount Tire throwback from Darlington and the latter portion of last season makes a return in 2021. MoneyLion, AutoTrader, Pirtek, and Wurth will also make appearances throughout the season.

    - Not much changes for Kevin Harvick and the #4 crew as sponsors and designs go except for Hunt Brothers Pizza, who unveiled a new design during the offseason.

    - Kyle Larson returns to the Cup Series with Hendrick Motorsports after his suspension last year. The former 48 team will become the new 5 crew, with sponsorship from Hendrick-owned NationsGuard. The design harkens back to Rick Hendrick's late son, Ricky, and his driving days in the early-2000s.

    - Ryan Newman returns to Roush Fenway Racing's #6 Ford with Oscar Mayer and new sponsor Kohler Generators.

    - Spire Motorsports is looking to (finally) make a run at success, purchasing a charter and bringing Corey LaJoie on full-time to drive their #7 Chevy. LaJoie brings Scluter Systems, a former GoFas Racing sponsor, with him.

    - 2020 Champion Chase Elliott looks to defend his title with a new NAPA Chevy. Llumar Window Film also makes the jump from Alex Bowman to Chase Elliott, bringing their design along with them. Adrenaline Shoc replaces Mountain Dew but has not unveiled a design so far.

    - Back-to-back Defending Daytona 500 champion Denny Hamlin will have a slight tweak to the rear of his #11 Fedex Camry in 2021 (2020 design for comparison).

    - Chase Briscoe replaces Clint Bowyer in the #14 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford Mustang after a successful stint in the Xfinity Series. Most of Bowyer's sponsors seem to be sticking around, but Briscoe will be bringing HighPoint along with him for the bulk of 2021.

    - Chris Buescher gets a new design for his #17 Fastenal Mustang for Roush Fenway Racing.

    - 2017 Champion Martin Truex, Jr. sees a few tweaks to his Bass Pro Shops and Auto Owners Insurance rides, and will also have Reser's on-board for the first time.

    - Christopher Bell makes the jump from Leavine Family Racing to Joe Gibbs Racing's #20 Toyota Camry. Bell brings Rheem along with him while retaining Stanley/DeWalt/Craftsman from when Erik Jones piloted the 20.

    - Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan teams-up with Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin to field the #23 Toyota Camry for 23XI Racing in 2021. Bubba Wallace will pilot the car full-time with sponsorship from DoorDash, McDonald's, Dr. Pepper, Columbia, and Root Insurance.

    - William Byron enters his fourth season with Hendrick Motorsports piloting the #24 Chevy. This year, Byron gets two new designs from Axalta and Liberty University.

    - 2020 Rookie of the Year Cole Custer will have a new sponsor as Dixie Vodka joins the #41 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford for a few races in 2021. Haas CNC Tooling will remain the primary sponsor of Custer this year, moving from a white design to a new silver one.

    - Alex Bowman's 88 team rebrands to the 48 following the retirement of 7-time champion Jimmie Johnson. The new 48 team will see Ally on their car the entire season with a new purple design for 2021.

    - Daniel Suarez moves to the newly-formed Trackhouse Racing #99 Chevy, co-owned by Justin Marks and Pitbull. So far the organization has unveiled new sponsors iFly skydiving and Pump It Up party centers.

  8. *Sigh* I actually like some of the recent city-edition uniforms and the leaks from earlier... but good lord these uniforms are getting exhausting.

     

    There's just so many, and it's so obvious it's all a cash grab. Some of these could be actual full-time looks, others are just bad. When everyone tries to be unique by having 5, 6, 7, 8 uniforms each year, then no one is unique. 

     

    At what point do these extra uniforms begin to dilute the teams' brands? IMO, I think we've crossed that threshold.

  10. A lot of these are really nice. Vegas, Minnesota, New Jersey, Montreal, Arizona, and Anaheim are my favorites of the bunch.

     

    Dallas needs to go in the trash. I like idea behind Detroit's, but the execution is just not there. 

     

    Also, Florida's would be a perfect third if they use their current alternate Panther logo:

    Greg Ives, Bowman's current crew chief, will be moving to the 48 as well. This makes me think the 88 is simply getting rebranded to the 48, similar to how the 24 became the 9 and the 5 became the 24 when Byron moved into the Cup Series. 

     

    With the rumors of Kyle Larson being picked up by Hendrick picking up in recent days and weeks, I could see a return of the 5, 25, or the old Busch Series 57 Hendrick used to run with Brian Vickers in the Busch Series:

  12. Personally, I think these changes are much needed, although they may take a little time getting used to for those of us who have been around awhile. 

     

    The line between Sports Logos News and Discussion has become so blurred that every time I open the NFL Changes 2020 thread, I'm greeted with discussions about "wouldn't it be great if Team X had this look (posts concept)" or "Players at this position should wear this number set or this number", etc. It became so diluted that whenever a team was about to introduce something new, that thread would blow up over the most random of things unrelated to the topic at hand. It got to the point in that and other "news" threads where I hated opening that part of the forum because I knew nothing of value was being added. I mention the NFL Changes thread specifically but I've noticed it in the other major league's respective threads as well. 

     

    I'm fine with the minor league and college news, discussions, and others being lumped into a megathread. Not a lot of discussion takes place in those threads and nothing seems to get lost that way. 

     

    In my opinion, I think the SportsLogos.Net News Bot needs to be addressed. Personally, I don't recall a situation in which the bot has added anything of value. Sometimes the discussion on that topic has been ongoing for several weeks or more before the bot posts in another separate thread, only to be seen by maybe a dozen people. I understand that those threads may end up being merged in the larger threads later, but it seems like it adds a lot of clutter to the News section. Merging them into the larger threads seems redundant at times as well as the source of the news has, in more times than not, been posted already. That's not to say I don't understand the bot's purpose, because I do. It just comes across as redundant and unnecessary at times, but perhaps that's for another time/thread. 

     

    I know some may not be big fans of splitting News/Discussion in the first place, but I think it has helped keep the Sports Logos section clear of unnecessary clutter. Doing this will help alleviate even more clutter, in my opinion, and maybe bring more people to the Sports Logos General Discussion section.
