  1. This Sunday the GSL is holding the Inaugural Gridiron Bowl. More details about the game can be found here: https://www.gridiron-uniforms.com/GSL/controller/controller.php?action=news-story&story=2021-07-27-1 Here are some of the uniforms/logos/fields for the game. Gridiron Bowl logo by @logoroy Team logo/uniform designs by their respective owners: Arizona: @logoroy https://www.gridiron-uniforms.com/GSL/controller/controller.php?action=team-history&team_id=ARZ Norfolk: @RBronish https://www.gridiron-uniforms.com/GSL/controller/controller.php?action=team-history&team_id=NOR Field design and poorly photoshopped game jerseys and stadium field by me.
  2. It will be the Redemption Game moving forward, but this game is the Playoff Bowl because of the way I ran the logo competition. Of the 5 entries (https://imgur.com/a/nu62cGL) league members voted on two things: 1) Which logo was the best for the 2021 game 2) Which is the best game name, which would be used for all future games So with the winning logo being Playoff Bowl, that's why the game is named that this year, but the winning game name was Redemption Game, so it'll be that moving forward.
  3. This Saturday the GSL is holding the 2021 Playoff Bowl (will be known as the Redemption Game moving forward). This is a game between the two conference runner ups. More info here: https://www.gridiron-uniforms.com/GSL/controller/controller.php?action=news-story&story=2021-07-22-1 Here are the logos, uniforms, and field for the game. Playoff Bowl Logo is by me. Team uniforms and logos are by the team owners: Memphis Comets: https://www.gridiron-uniforms.com/GSL/controller/controller.php?action=team-history&team_id=MEM Pennsylvania Keystones: https://www.gridiron-uniforms.com/GSL/controller/controller.php?action=team-history&team_id=PEN And the field is by @SFCOM1
  4. Cool stuff! Loving that last Saints field. If you need some to-scale field templates, I've got all of them from the Gridiron Fields Database of course. Can't wait to see what else you come up with!
  5. Added more Dolphins fields, now dating back to 2001. As always, the full set of fields is on the Gridiron Fields Database: https://gridiron-uniforms.com/fields/controller/controller.php?action=view-team-all&team_id=MIA&city=Miami&name=Dolphins Early season baseball 1996-2007 (the 1995 field is almost exactly the same, but there is a change in the field numbers) 2001 Wild Card Playoffs 2002-2003 late season 2004 Monday night late season 2008 Wild Card Playoffs (had this one before, but I updated it)
  6. And lastly, my continental league team, the Miami Cougars. The Cougars were last owned in the UWFFL by Roger Morrow, who I think came up with the original logo? I'm not sure, but I upscales and cleaned up that logo a bit, without making any major changes, because it's really good. I gave the uniforms a complete overhaul though, and removed lime green accents. Full sized image link: https://i.imgur.com/kLv4r9h.png
  7. On to my Premier league team, the Vancouver Seawolves. I completely overhauled and rebranded this team when I took it over. Originally the Seawolves mascot was an Orca, and the colors were red and green. Full sized image link: https://i.imgur.com/SAYb9xH.png
  8. Well, I'll have to ask Curtis. He is still very active in the UWFFL (owns the Toronto Terror in the GSL), and made so many teams for the UWFFL. I'm not sure what the method was behind the names and colors and designs and such, but he's got a lot of good ones.
  9. Had some time to get back into some fields, and since I was way behind on the Dolphins, I got 5 more seasons done, from 2009 through 2013, which ended up being 25 distinct field designs (can't post them all of course, but you know where to find them). Here are some of my favorites from those years: 2009 week 2 2009 week 13 2012 weeks 12, 13, 15, 16 2013 weeks 13, 14, 17
  10. This next team has a bit more backstory and history to it, before it was a UWFFL team that I took over. The original logo design and helmet design was created by Ryan Connelly, and was part of a featured article on UniWatch https://uni-watch.com/2013/05/03/uni-watch-diy-project-building-a-better-helmet/ A full uniform set was eventually made, as the Express were more fleshed out to become a part of the UWFFL. As I took this team over, I made the striping match the logo, and leaned on more on the black and gold of the team, which, is big in Pittsburgh spots (and as you can see, has heavy Steelers influences, as did the original helmet project design by Ryan). 11. Next team up, the Cincinnati Grinders This is another team that I took over from Curtis. Solid design to begin with, but I modified the number font, logo, and striping. Full sized image link: https://i.imgur.com/ybkrqlp.png
  12. The next team comes from the Metro South Conference, the Charleston Navigators. As for all the UWFFL teams I'll post, this is another team I took over ownership of, as most teams are abandoned, or were owned by Curtis. I made more drastic changes to the original designs of this team, as they were a bit dated from the last time the UWFFL was active. Full size image link: https://i.imgur.com/zRK6C5j.png Tried to get a classic Seahawks vibe with this team, based on the Navigators original team colors. And sorry about the size of the image here, this forum's algorithm for resizing images limits width and height to preset dimensions, but clicking on the image will bring it to full size.
  13. Rob Holecko, who has been a key member of the GUD team since the beginning, has resurrected the UWFFL, to run alongside the GSL, in the fall, wile the GSL runs in the spring. The original UWFFL ran on UniWatch: https://uni-watch.com/2013/06/01/wrapping-up-the-uwffl-franchise-contest/ With later iterations moving to a blog: http://uwffl.blogspot.com/ And now, on it's own site: https://www.gridiron-uniforms.com/UWFFL/weekly/2015_Champions/final.shtml and forum: https://gridironuniforms.forumotion.com/f10-uwffl Any information about what's going on in the UWFFL is found on the forum, but for some background to the concepts to come, there are multiple leagues that form the UWFFL (think of European soccer). Individuals can own a team in each league, so, I'll go through the teams I own in each league. First, the Calgary Alpines of the Pacific Coast Conference, originally owned by Curtis Peddle (still a part of the UWFFL, and GSL, but due to the number of teams he's owned, he's had to pass some off). I updated slightly Curtis' original uniform designs, and upscaled the logos, based on the tiny versions from the original uniform designs. Full size image link: https://i.imgur.com/xvQu5y3.png
  14. The GSL had another logo competition, this time for the GSL Memorial Day Classic (FYI, we do logo competitions periodically, which are open to anyone to submit). League owners are voting now for the winning logo, but I figured I'd show off some of the work that was submitted: This next entry was mine, but since I won the previous logo competition, I made myself ineligible to win this one All entries Full album here: https://imgur.com/a/CXppABy
  15. @JayJaxon There used to be a link from the Gridiron Uniform Database to the Diamond Uniform Database, before the domain expired on the Diamond Uniform Database. Did you used to run that site? I used to visit the site a lot, while it was up, it was fantastic. The uniform template was really great then, and the template now is even better.
  16. The GSL owners had a competition to create a logo for a "Playoff Bowl" (a game between the Conference Runner Ups, as was done in the NFL many years ago). League owners are voting now for the winning logo, but I figured I'd show off some of the work that was submitted: Full album here: https://imgur.com/a/nu62cGL
  17. GSL International Series Field for this game courtesy of @SFCOM1 Team logos and designs belong to their respective GSL team owners
  18. Wrapping things up for Super Bowl LV, here is the poster format I was working on: No scores added Scores added
  19. Also wanted to take a first crack at a Super Bowl LVI field, to see how the logo would look on a field I have to say, having more color in the logo makes a huge difference. The logo does come off a little odd looking, with all the color being off the vertical center, between the hash marks, but the color in the numerals is great. I think, this game being in a stadium with a roof, and on turf, will allow the field crew to get the gradient on the logo, and I think it'll look nice on the field. I'm hoping, in the future, they make the Super Bowl part of the logo color as well, one that would contrast the numeral colors. A navy blue would have been good for this logo, with Super Bowl in the same color as the numerals.
  20. Super Bowl LV Field Logos Midfield Endzones Teamboxes Numbers
  21. Super Bowl LV: February 7, 2021 - Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida Kansas City Chiefs - 9 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 31 Field without teamboxes Took me a while to get the Super Bowl logo correct. Since there was no gradient I had to basically edit pixel by pixel and match up with a bunch of reference photos and videos. < Super Bowl LIV First Post Super Bowl LVI >
  22. Yes, I agree. I feel like this will be a tough logo to paint on the field, but I'm not so sure that the NFL cares or really considers that anymore, since they don't really put as much effort into the field designs anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if they got rid of the gradient, as they do sometimes, and have more solidly colored numerals and trees in the logo, in order to paint this on the field.
  23. Well, it's not good, but it's another step in the right direction. It's still based on the horrible template, but, the numerals are now in color, with city specific imagery included. If you didn't know where the game would be played, this logo would tell you LA or Miami, and that's a step in the right direction. I still think the logo needs much more color, and of course a move away from the template. I'd expect we see similar logo designs over the next few years, with the numerals including imagery based on the host cities of LA, Arizona, wherever Super Bowl LVIII end up, and New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX.
  24. My hope is that, maybe they had a logo for Super Bowl LVI, similar to the templated logos of the past decade, but they've scrapped it in favor of a different or re-worked design? I'm taking this as a positive, and hoping that this somehow means they are going to change the logo system. I've seen more and more in recent years, from regular, non logo watching people, about how bad the logos have been, and how corporate and indistinguishable they are becoming. Best case, we start getting logos that are more personalized to the host city. It could just be that they are behind on the logo process. I'm holding out hope for a new, and better logo system.
