  1. You did a fantastic job with it! I kind of have a feeling we might see your version of the logo pop up in un-official uses, because it looks like it is an official logo. I'll have fun trying to spot it around places.
  2. Fields from this past weekend. One change I made to my templates (which I will go back and update for last week's fields) is matching the color of the grass/turf as best I could. So you'll notice some darker shades in these fields. Seattle Another field where the Progressive ads where digitally added during the broadcast, but were not actually painted on the field. Vegas Not a good look for the XFL, between the crappy stadium, bad field conditions, and low fan turnout, which got even worse once the rain started coming down. Just some weird things too, like the outlined, but not painted "G" at the goal line, re-sodded patches all over, in seemly no pattern (looks like a truck drove on the field a couple times, causing weird patches), and oddest thing of all, the hash mark at the 3 yard line, which is useless in an XFL game (1pt conversion takes place at the 2). Orlando The Guardians wordmark blended into the turf color a bit much. It would probably look better if the Guardians used their neon green color to give it a little more contrast. Houston The Progressive ad was moved from the 35 yard lines, to the 25 yard lines this week compared to last.
  3. Do you have a high-res copy of that 2D logo somewhere? I'm sure that's the version that will see the field next February.
  4. Here are some Super Bowl LVIII Concepts. Base template The NFL will typically re-sod the entire field prior to the Super Bowl, so I'd think they'd do the same. That also means they'd likely add the standard number font (century schoolbook), and a standard grass shading pattern, as done for many of the recent Super Bowls on grass. Template with NFL / Super Bowl LVIII Logos NFL logo is the same size its been on Super Bowl fields. The Super Bowl logos will be the same height as the logos for the last two Super Bowls On to some field concepts
  5. I've got a good high-res version of the SB logo. Little busy with XFL stuff over on the GUD at the moment, plus GSL, but I do want to put some concepts together.
  6. Final, and least exciting field of the weekend, DC Defenders (minus the lemons) The Progressive ads are not on my version of the field here, as the ads seen on the field during the broadcast were digital, and not painted on the field. The likely lack of paint on the field is due to DC United's on-going games at the stadium. It will be interesting to see how the field looks for DC's next home game, after DC United plays the night before. We should see some very clear Soccer lines on the field for the Defenders next home game.
  7. One final Super Bowl LVII field post. Poster version. I'd still love to find a way to get these things printed at a reasonable size.
  8. Time to get to the XFL fields from this past weekend. Starting with Arlington Glad to see some actual team wordmarks in the endzones for most teams this weekend. Field designs are following the same pattern as the 2020 XFL.

  10. Super Bowl LVII: February 12, 2023 - State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ Kansas City Chiefs - 38 Philadelphia Eagles - 35 Field Without Teamboxes Finally got to a completed and final version. Took some time to get the new grass texture (made from high res images prior to the game), and it took a while to get all of the colors consistent, and the right shades, but I think I nailed it. < Super Bowl LVI First Post Super Bowl LVIII >
  11. Great insight into the field conditions. I do think it's interesting that they give the field a first paint nearly two weeks in advance, then paint again the day before. I know in the past, media day would be at the stadium, just off the field (up until Super Bowl XLIII I think), and the field would be fully painted then. I'm sure the reasoning for the advanced first painting is because of how much painting must be done, and it makes it much easier to re-paint just before the game. Seems to take a couple days for that first painting to take place now, and the second painting can be done in a day (since they have the already painted field to work off of). If the day before painting seems to cause issues, then why not do that last painting two days before? But also, it seemed like field issues were present often at unpainted sections of the field as well.
  12. Working on getting the Super Bowl logo right for my final field diagram. Here's the basic process to get to a finished product. Rest of the field I won't get to until next week (really busy work week unfortunately) Found a good jpeg image that I could manipulate the URL to get a nearly 10,000 pixel wide very high def image (this is resized back down to 1,024 pixels) Scaled to correct perspective where the logo is on the field (camera lenses will skew the edges, but the center where the logo is, is pretty close) Finally, apply to field (I also color matched the grass shades) That gets me the most accurate depiction of the on field Super Bowl logo as possible. I'll try to do the same with the NFL logo if I find a good enough pre-game image of it.
  13. This field is really going to look great at game time.
  14. There is actually a black outline. Hard to see from a distance
  15. Used the above image to overlay on the field template, to give us a good idea about overall field design. Not very high resolution of course.
  16. Appears to have the black outline, which I like. I'm guessing the Eagle logo itself is likely the same size (could even be the same template, or source template file) used as Super Bowl LII. I'm sure the NFL hangs on to the logo and wordmark cut outs (Chiefs logo and wordmark are all the exact same size as their previous two Super Bowl appearences). One thing I've noticed about this field, is that last years NSFL logo at midfield was the first since the logo change in 2008 that was actually the correct proportions. This year, they went back tot he proportions they have been using, which is too short for the width they have.
  17. One thing I've been interested in, is, will the Eagles wordmark have the black outline, or not? The NFL tends to remove outlines like that for the Super Bowl lately. Officially, the Eagles wordmark, when on a midnight green background is just white, with no outline. But, of course as we've seen in Philadelphia all season, the outline has been there. I predicted no outline, but I'd like to see it. Haven't been able to get an images of the Eagles endzone yet. I will say though, the new Eagles wordmark fits much better to a current Super Bowl field design, with just the logo and wordmark.
  18. Best I could do scaling the Chiefs endzone, given the one picture I could find with a nearly full view of it (before yellow paint applied)

  20. Did a quick overlay using this image To get a sense of size and scaling of the Super Bowl logo on the field
