  1. I have to say, overall it's going to be a good looking Super Bowl. The natural light with a 3:30 local time start is really going to make the colors pop on the Super Bowl logos. Couldn't have asked for a better uniform matchup either between these two teams in their current sets.

  3. Okay, I believe this will be my final iteration until the game is played, after which I'll probably make some adjustments.
  4. I do think the oversized Super Bowl logos are going to look pretty good on the TV screen. Plus, they have color, so that puts this field high on the list of recent Super Bowl fields. I still love Super Bowl LIV's field from the template era a ton, but we'll see how I feel after seeing this field in game.
  5. I'm going to put them in, since that would be accurate to the field. I haven't done them in the regular season because how much they vary, and that would greatly increase my work load. It is nice to see some more color in the Super Bowl logo again. Makes a huge difference. If you haven't seen the uniform matchup already, it's the best case scenario. Bengals are black over white, and Rams are white over yellow. https://www.gridiron-uniforms.com/GUD/controller/controller.php?action=weekly&year=2021&week=sb&league=NFL
  6. Still need to do the team boxes, but here's where I'm at now. Changed the field texture a bit more to try and capture the turf look better. Goal is to get as close to this look as possible
  7. I'll get this on a flat field template later this afternoon. I would have liked a little more color in either teams endzones (orange wordmark for the Bengals, "Sol" for the Rams), but at least we've got color in the Super Bowl logo this go around. Looking at the Super Bowl logos in this image, they've re-painted the hash marks in the middle of the field, including over the Super Bowl logos. curious if they'll just touch up the paint on the logos and keep the style they've got, or if they'll go back and add more detail to the logo later. We shall see.
  8. I actually did not know this, but I agree, great move going purple. The purple vs red in that game does make it one of my favorite endzone combos in a Super Bowl.
  9. Currently working on it. I don't know anything about the Rams endzone yet, so I have a textured field that's just got a royal endzone at the moment. Just got to finish some other things up. *** EDIT *** Here's what I've got so far.
  10. Okay, I think I've nailed down the textured version of the Super Bowl logo. This is assuming they don't add more detail to the logo later, but not too bad to re-create without a gradient.
  11. Great high res image of the Super Bowl logo. Link: https://images.radio.com/aiu-media/USATSI17600425-d4fe3081-8feb-43c7-a642-0f80f825b9b8.jpg?width=10000
  12. Best I can tell, scaling relative to other points on the field, this is what the Bengals endzone will look like when completed.
  13. Unfortunatly, yes. Not sure why they would go with white. It's an odd choice.
  14. That confirms that there will not be a green border in the endzone.
  15. Sorry, forgot about this. I could not find any good quality images, and I don't really have the time to upscale them myself, so it looks a little rough, but I beleive it paints the picture. Going with Super Bowl norms of this era, the wordmark was stretched vertically to fill the endzone better.
  16. I'd say this; it looks better than I thought it would. Honestly, probably better than the B BENGALS endzone.
  17. Since endzones are expected to be painted today, here's a look at what a Commanders endzone might look like
  18. Here's a good image from another angle that shows the scaling of the logo and the painting process.
  19. Updated field template I'm still holding onto the belief that they will paint more detail into the Super Bowl logo as time goes along, as we've seen the past couple of years. These may be the largest Super Bowl logos not placed at midfield.
  20. Disappointing, but expected. Where did you see this?
  21. Which is expected. What's interesting is that the Rams are reported to be in their own locker room, and on their own sideline, (which, for those who don't know, the Rams and Chargers are actually on different sidelines when they play their home games). That would put the Rams on the "top" sideline when viewing on TV.
  22. Other thing of note, you can see there will be dark/light "grass" effect. Will be lighter between the 45s from the TV angle, and then alternating dark/light anding with a darker shade between the goal line and 5 yard line.
  23. My favorite time of year, as we slowly get images from the field. Looks like this will be the widest Super Bowl logo on the field since Super Bowl XLIV. First one of the templated logo era to stretch past the 20 and 30 yard lines. Interested in how the gradient shows when they're done painting. Lot's of detail in this year's logo, so it could be a challenge for the field crew, and will certainly be a challenge for me copying their copy of the logo.
  24. As we get further from the AFL-NFL merger, it seems like they're putting less emphasis on the conferences. The old AFC logo was taken from the original AFL logo, and modified over time. I'm almost wondering if at some point down the road (could be 20 years from now even), the conferences are mostly done away with, and divisions across the league play each other in some rotational format. By playoff time, you'd have a tournament that isn't split into conferences. I'm sure there would be some sort of monetary benefit to that. As far as TV contracts go, and the money that brings the league, in recent years new contracts have seen CBS get into some of the bigger markets that FOX usually has, like Chicago and Dallas. In a non-conference format, I could see the TV deals getting more expensive, as each game or market might have their rights bought, and that's more lucrative to the NFL.
  25. I think part of it being locked was due to all the alternate field designs that take place in this thread in the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl. There's probably been 2 dozen field designs thrown out there from multiple people, including myself the past couple of weeks, including the conference runner ups. Looks like they're still working on scrubbing, but for sure it, as we would expect, it's going to be a blue endzone. Way too early to tell what endzone design the Rams will go with. I'm hoping that, since the Rams have won two home playoff games at SoFi with the Ram head logo and yellow wordmark, that they just stick with that. I think that's the greatest case for a Rams head logo in the endzone. As for the Bengals, the Bengals head logo is rarely used. I know it's still an alternate logo for the team, but I can't think of the last time I've actually seen it used anywhere. Not saying it doesn't get used, but for anyone outside of Cincinnati, we don't really see it anymore. My hope for the Bengals is that they go with a helmet in the endzone to call back to their last two Super Bowl appearances, even though I think that's unlikely.
