  1. The Orioles still do it. White panel cap at home, all black on road, black O's hat with the black jersey
  2. The gold was ugly and created two separate identities for home and away. I'm glad it's gone Those have been our colors since 1928 when we were in Washington. We aren't changing them, get over it The lack of outline makes them stand out from other R/W/N teams. And I didn't know the Rangers had a trademark on a striping pattern I didn't know the Royals had a trademark on scripts on a baseball jersey, and their jerseys are literally a rip-off of the Dodgers. Ours is at least unique in having the underline detached from the script.
  3. Interesting note: the Mariners implied they had to get rid of their powder blue spring training jersey because of Nike's new "4+1" rule, as they were not in compliance with the rule with the grey jersey and the powder blue. But the White Sox are still repping their "retro logo-current colors" spring training jersey, which brings them to 5+1. God none of this makes any sense
  4. The Cubs haven't worn the royal blue alternates with pinstripe pants for years. It's strictly a road alternate
  5. Because US flag code is legally non-binding to begin with
  6. It wouldn't make any sense since teams play in either the day or under the lights
  7. Diamondbacks posted a photoshoot today where the players were wearing the turquoise accented A hat, so it's definitely back and being worn this season
  8. This is worse, because the Twins fully committed to gold at home (aside from throwbacks) while the D-Backs literally only have one uniform with it, while the alternates they will wear at home have zero turquoise whatsoever
  9. I'm more indifferent to the Nike logo because it's more abstract and natural looking. There's no words on it, it has a nice flow to it, and it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. And it's in team colors. I would be somewhat more accepting of ads if leagues required them to be in team colors/fit more naturally on the jersey. Also having the ad on whatever side faces the camera when the player is batting is simultaneously a genius idea from a marketing standpoint and the stupidest thing I've ever seen in practice
  10. The only team I have any hope in not putting ads on the sleeves is the Yankees, and even for them I'm not so sure
  11. Probably because the Rays jerseys are the exact same wordmark placed on different color jerseys
  12. Here is a list of every team that will have to drop jerseys from their rotation to fit the new 4+1 rule: Phillies (5) Nationals (6?) Braves (5) Rays? (5 if the gradient throwback is included) Pirates (5) Diamondbacks (5) Padres (5) Rangers (5) For some teams it's easy to imagine what will get dropped (Pirates Camo and one of the Padres Camo) but other teams will have a hard choice to make soon. The Nationals technically have 6 uniforms, but only wear 4 (script white, W red, script navy, road) so they will probably continue what they've been doing.
  13. I feel like this would be a good time for the Mariners to go back to teal-brim hat for all home games, and the navy hat only on the road
  14. I actually really don't mind if some teams ditched their greys, but Seattle had some nice greys so I'm bummed
  15. Yes they will have 3 helmets. Two match their corresponding hats, and the other one is a fun throwback to a design we used in the 70s and when Mauer was catcher
  16. God I love that white panel helmet. I would love a sunday alternate hat that matches the helmet
  17. This photo makes it look like a normal Astros hat got left on a dashboard in the Texas sun
  18. I'd honestly be fine with if they made it that you can wear the alternate with any combination, but any use of an alternate helmet or jersey counts towards your 3 alternates a season, so choose wisely
  19. Feels weird that the Cowboys just slapped the same logo and stripe from their regular helmet on the white one, instead of getting stripes that match the pants. It's not like they're strapped for money or anything
  20. It's a lot of scrolling for TBD that most of us never go back to when the matchups are actually confirmed. I appreciate his work, but if I want to see all of the week's uniform matchups, I'll just go to Gridiron Uniforms where I can see all of them at once
