I'm not a huge circled ring fan, yet those trophies really pop via side view. Not sure any future ring will ever be larger, including if the Patriots (hopefully) win again soon.
Maybe if/when the Cowboys win they'll make the most ridiculous ones because of course they would.

Who here thinks that the Stanley Cup Final should be held in a month when Canada still has snow? I do. Can't we shift the NHL season to accommodate this? Start the season in September, for one. Play an average of 16 games a month for 5 1/2 months (Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan) and have the playoffs run from mid-February to mid-April; providing two weeks per round. I know that those players who miss the playoffs or go out early like to hit the golf clubs, and perhaps can't do that when snow is on the ground, but they have money, right? If they really want to golf, they can go somewhere where they can.
Now, I realize that a March Stanley Cup Final would go right up against March Madness, but as it stands, the NBA Finals and baseball are also playing, not to mention other things, like the Women's World Cup, Euro qualifying, etc. There's always going to be some competition for sports dollars on the calendar.
Thoughts?
They've probably already thought of some of that.
However, August preseason games... opening season vs. NFL & NCAAF, playoffs vs. NCAAB... it's just not in the cards.
I don't mind a June Final. Sure it's hockey in June... except it is only the last 2-4x teams remaining to play. Besides, the NHL draft is this month which is great, & FA on July 1.

Toronto Marlies name new head coach, 34yr old Sheldon Keefe. Somewhat newsworthy around these parts as that AHL roster will be enough of a cog in the Leafs plan going forward.
Also - it's a job that now places Keefe on potential future NHL job openings lists.re. Portland, I'd love to see that. Though I can't see them ahead of Seattle... unless that became a type of bidding war.
We do know the NHL doesn't mind places where not a lot of other teams exist - Columbus, Nashville, San Jose proper at the time, etc. Heck, it's a prime reason that Las Vegas has even been taken semi seriously.

MLB 20... geographic + DH tyvm...
MLB East
Baltimore
Boston
New York
Philadelphia
Washington
MLB North
Chicago
Detroit
Minnesota
Pittsburgh
Toronto
MLB South
Atlanta
Cincinnati
Kansas City
Miami
St. Louis
MLB West
Colorado
Los Angeles
San Francisco
Seattle
Texas
-
CFL East
Halifax
Hamilton
MontrealOttawa
Quebec City
Toronto
CFL West
BC
Calgary
Edmonton
Saskatchewan
Sudbury
Winnipeg
Saskatoon &/or Victoria wouldn't work, they'd erode the Riders' & Lions' territories.
Sudbury is just for balance. Thunder Bay is a better geographic fit, yet its population has actually declined over 30yrs. Sudbury could maybe grow a fan base with North Bay/Sault Ste. Marie/Parry Sound.
I know Kitchener/Waterloo is the sexy choice, though too much southern Ontario coverage might get weird.

I love this uniform and the realistic bird logo for the Orioles:
Yep, the goofy bird is too 70's'ish for me.
-
The Senators 'O' alternates are terrible
I see you working, & for me the O still feels a bit off balance from the rest of the jersey design. It was a fan concept yes? I guess that's as polished as we can get from that.
I dunno, I've just never seen a logo'd O with anything Ottawa, esp without a maple leaf. What I do see is Oregon Ducks playing old timey hockey.

I see the QMJHL St. John's Fog Devils only lasted 4yrs before moving to Verdun/Montreal.
The Q should go back to St. John's, the CHL at least should keep ties there.

Well, you're forgetting the likes of Monterrey, Mexico City, Toronto, Havana, San Juan, Paris, Montreal, Vancouver.... some of which are larger more lucrative markets that some you've added.
-
Nevada Black Knights.
Word on the street appears they might be a go, perhaps as early as the NHL awards taking place in Las Vegas. Potential ownership said to prefer the Nevada name which imo is silly as Las Vegas is arguably one of the most marketable city 'names' in the world.
Maybe they want to distance themselves from probable Las Vegas stereotypical persona?
That'll leave Seattle on the clock, esp if the league makes the case for playing in a city with tourists filling 40% of the building while saying they wanted more balance to the geographic alignment.
Speaking of which, how would they align them? Seattle would be nowhere except the Pacific... maybe the Nevadas will agree to the Central because they've already discussed late night home starts- which would align with the Central market yes?

Yellow/bright away/alternate kits for the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, etc.
Hideous. Stick to white.
-
Still prefer this...
New ones should ditch the flag on the helmet, it looks stupid zoomed in.

Here's a unpopular opinion - the NBA should make a rule that all players wearing any kind of shirt or tights under their jerseys should be kicked in the testicles before taking the court. It looks like crap. It's doesn't make you look cool, and it doesn't help your blood flow or any crap like that. You look like the kid on the junior high team who wore a shirt because he was self-conscious about his lack of underarm hair. Or alternatively, the fat kid who wore a t-shirt in the pool.

Quickly on IndyCar, because I know there's already a thread, it sorely needs a greater sense of structure.
As it is, I couldn't tell you when most races are, usually until it's too late & I've missed them.
I admire that they changed the cars up a few years ago now, except road racing looks so awkward. Maybe it's just an illusion based on design, I dunno.
Also - the Indianapolis 500 needs to re-embrace the series & not big time the circuit so much. The 500 field after all is mainly comprised of IndyCar racers, & its results factor into the circuit. Alas, media have done a truly, & I mean truly, piss poor job promoting IndyCar via the Indy 500. How's anyone supposed to get buzz when the 500 treats itself as the Super Bowl of racing... when casual viewers couldn't name more than 1-2x drivers if their lives depended on it, if that.
No IndyCar participation? Guess what Indianapolis... what'cha got now??
To be fair, in my perfect fantasy world, the Indianapolis 500 would command & demand drivers & teams from each IndyCar, NASCAR, & esp. F1.
That would make it the single most unique racing event on the planet. As it was way back in the day, & as it should be... Daytona & Monaco be damned.

I really don't get all of the uproar about the Isles leaving Nassau. Sightlines issues aside, I think that moving to the city is the best possible thing for the franchise. Personally, I think it's something they should've always considered, rather than a last resort. New York is a busy place with no shortage of entertainment options in the city, and nobody is going to give a about you if you're all the way out on "Lawn Guyland". If they keep playing like they did this year, maybe the Isles will find their way out of irrelevance with the move to Brooklyn.
Yeah, they'll be fine. Islanders fans could've sold out their local building for years to create demand... & did not.
Besides, it's not like they're moving to Las Vegas or Seattle.
-
So will the Los Angeles Raiders & Los Angeles Chargers be sharing the AFC West for long?
Seems like a bit unbalance for all the other crybaby owners. How about flip the Chargers into the NFC West & throw the Seahawks back into the AFC West?
-
I still can't believe that LAS VEGAS is being discussed as a viable option for a franchise.
Rare view of the NHL boardroom:
I found Gary Bettman's phone....

While I like their colors from the Golden Seals era better, I prefer the O because it is better balanced. Criminally underrated regardless of which iteration.
regardless of the "O" or the "C" all I ever see if a fish head on an ice cream cone in front of a watermelon.
I can only imagine the amount of acid the artist who rendered that was on for it to look like a "seal" to him.
You're not alone. I see either a live fish burrito or some type of frozen lemon ice snack with a cartoon fish head.

I had to make some tough choices. I felt Cubs-Cards to be more important than Mets-Braves. I kept the leagues intact, but maybe a little later I'll take another pass with whatever league alignment I want. Might as well go the whole nine yards for the hypothetical.
I've always liked the NFL alignment best.
Anyways, feel free to play with the geography a little for rivalry's sake. We all love the Cowboys in the NFC East not West or South, & the Dolphins in the AFC East not South.
I guess what I'd do is trade your New Orleans for Montreal, move Washington into the South, Montreal the East.

Overrated?
Reds & now Indians C's. Sorry, those generic C's do not jive for me. Chicago Bears' logo at least fits perfectly for their uniform & helmet.
The Reds and Bears use the same C.
I've also merged the Underrated/Overrated thread with the unpopular opinion thread because that's all the former was anyway.

St. Louis would be alright esp if the NFL leaves. Again.
Other mild options- Vancouver, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas...
