Unfortunately no matter how well you play, there's little you can do when you're up against a team that cheats.
Puh-lease, get over it. The Red Sox cheated to need I remind you (yet no one gave a sh!t). And we've proven we can win without it, just see last year (minus the World Series).

The Mariners have the second-best record in MLB since June 19 (43-19), and only gained 3.5 games on the Astros in that time.
At least you'll get a wild card for the first time since I was 5 months old

Remember when the Yankees had a 15 game lead in the division and were a near unanimous lock to win it?
.....Now that's down to a 4 game lead over the Rays.
Oh that is beautiful to hear. Astros one seed boys!

Welp, any chance Utah has to contend for a title is gone. It's a shame because I like seeing small market teams succeed no matter what sport, especially the big market dominated NBA.
Cleveland on the other hand, might have something next season to get by the altar they were left at last year.

Hi all, the USFL in 2000, leading up to the 2000 Summer Bowl, has released the logo for the 2001 Summer Bowl in Chicago. As with many of the designs I am working on, this is a repurposed logo, a modification of the standard logo for the Sears/Willis Tower, with added text and a sun (for summer, of course) in team colors (Maroon/Sky). As with several other logos, the emphasis is on the city and not football itself. The 2000 logo was very football heavy (goalpost, footballs as zeroes in 2000), but 2001 is more about Chicago than the sport. It tends to alternate between a very location-heavy and very football-heavy logo. I can also tell you that the Summer Bowls upcoming will be in Pittsburgh (2002), Seattle (2003), Orlando (2004), Houston (2005), Philadelphia (2006) and Jacksonville (2007).
Uh, i noticed a pattern that the four divisions host on a roational basis and Jacksonville 2007 appears to disrupt that since a West team hosted in 03 and shouldn't a West team host in 07 and Jacksonville in 08? Sick summer bowl logo BTW.

BTW, there is one missing piece to these 2002 uniforms. I am designing a 9/11 commemorative patch that all USFL clubs will wear (patch on jersey, perhaps sticker on helmet too) in 2002. New Jersey, Washington and Pittsburgh may take it a step further, we shall see. I thought about altering history and not having 9/11 happen, maybe having Gore win the 2000 election, but decided I should stick to one big historical change (no move to fall for USFL) and not mess with the rest.
Surprised Denver did nothing to commerate Columbine like the other Denver teams but maybe that got butterflied too.

Fairly certain that lacrosse is way older than hockey, so calling it a rip-off isn't fair. I don't really think there's too many comparisons between the two, other than they both have goaltenders and allow checking.
Didn't know that. Thanks for the info.

Always wondered if there are any sports here that people here don't really watch or care for. For me it's soccer and lacrosse. Soccer is just confusing as heck, the clock goes up, the visitors are listed second and just people pretending to get hurt like 60 percent of the time. Lacrosse I've always thought was somewhat of a hockey rip-off, but outside and balls rather than on ice and it's just not very big where I'm from.
Anyone else care to chime in?

How does that help him WATCH the games.
Well radio is better than not having no game to enjoy at all. Besides (and feel free to disagree with me) baseball is better on the radio than the TV.

If they do go to Honolulu, they can rebrand as the Kaiju.
Or the Hekili (The Hawaiian word for Thunder). Actually the more I think about it, the more I'm starting to like it.

OK, more crowdsourcing. My premise is that the Portland Thunder are never going to be able to get a bigger, better stadium in Portland. Civic Stadium is fine for the Timbers, there is no MLB or NFL in town, and UO is not interested.
This, in my mind, makes Portland one of the clubs most likely to relocate, and I am thinking early 2000's for that move. But where?
I know where they are going to end up in the late 2010's, but I am trying to figure out where they might go in between. Here are some contenders. Let me know your thoughts and any suggestions. Remember that the idea is that this will be a 12-18 year home, but that they will leave again late in the 2010's again because the conditions are not ideal for a profitable endeavor. And I would want them to stay in the West so as not to force another team to realign or switch divisions. So, thoughts on possible intermediary locations?
- Honolulu, Aloha Stadium
- Las Vegas, Sam Boyd Stadium
- San Jose, SJSU Spartan Stadium
- Dallas, Ford Stadium (SMU)
- Salt Lake City, U. of Utah Stadium
Honestly, I'd rather see them stay in Portland, but if Oregon (and Oregon State) don't have anything ideal or are too far out of town, then they would have to go. My first thought would be Sacramento (not on here), but that's not much of an improvement over PDX. Dallas would require a move to the Central or realignment and I just don't see that happening. San Jose might be too close to Oakland but if the Invaders are okay with it, I could see that. Las Vegas and Salt Lake could be interesting and could develop some rivalries. Honolulu is the most intriguing of all though. I know, travel expenses and all, but my idea would be to play the entire first-half of the season at home and the second half on the road in even-numbered years and vice versa for odd numbered years. Other options could be Vancouver, BC (if the CFL's fine with it), Oklahoma City (OU's campus is not far from town) and maybe San Diego.

You know @DG_ThenNowForever you could always listen on the radio or if you have an Alexa or something like that.

Looks much improved! Really like the number font to invoke a Flame at the top corner of the numbers. The logo also looks clean and very "Wrangler" unlike most of the logos mentioned in your previous post.

Explain why Cardinal fans are worse than Yankees, Red Sox or Dodgers fans.

Well, the good news is that the Yankees lost at least 2 outta 3 to the Cardinals. Bad news is that the Astros look like crap. GG Cleveland

See, this is why I'm losing interest in this league where smoking weed gets you a yearlong ban but raping over 20 women gets you suspended 1/3rd of the year.

I'm so sick of KD. Like, I am genuinely tired of hearing "news" about him. I will admit, most of my hatred came from me being a diehard LeBron fan and feeling pissed after KD signed with a record-setting team that Cleveland just barely beat. Watching people claim he's the "best player in the world" while winning championships that seemed predestined at the start of the season nearly cemented him in my mind as a selfish, lazy egomaniac. When he left for Brooklyn, I was as relieved as every other NBA fan, but I was also dissapioted to see that young, rag-tag Nets team lead by D'Angelo Russell go by the wayside. To watch him flame-out has been satisfying, but these trade rumors have gotten rather insane rather quickly. There should be no way in hell that Boston agrees to trade for Durant (which would likely mean giving up Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, Grant Williams + picks).
If this happens, and Kyrie gets traded to LA, Brooklyn's burnout reigniting the Lakers-Celtics would be both hilarious and an NBA fan's (and Adam Silver's) dream.
Jeez, you'd be happy with Kyrie on your team that already has chemistry issues??
Oops, OldSchoolVikes beat me too it.

Yeah, but I’d say the Birmingham Blast being seen as potentially being a reference to a racist terrorist attack in the city it happened should’ve been brought up ASAP. I know that we’ve had teams like the Atlanta Flames and the New York Jets but that kinda went too far.
As far as the Maniax? If they didn’t get rid of the Hitmen or Enforcers mascot, I don’t think they’d get rid of that.
Well you beat me to it Red Comet, I was gonna bring up the "Birmingham Blast" and it's racist use. And yeah, the Maniax logo is absolutely one of the worst logos I have seen in my life.

I admit we did cheat in 2017. But you guys are overreacting. It's not like we hit home runs on every pitch just because we knew what was coming. And oh yeah, the Steelers cheated in Super Bowl 40, and yet I see no one put an asterisk on that title. Same with the Patriots with Deflategate, but no one has an asterisk next to their ring either. Are people putting asterisks on the 1919 White Sox world series appearance or the Red 1919 World Series win? Of course not!
