Ms are the talk of baseball, riding high on a 13-game win streak...just to get it all snuffed out by baseball's worst and most unlikeable franchise of the last 20 years.

Houston should have been given the death penalty. They shouldn't have been allowed to be good for another decade.

I get we're division rivals, but you're that mad?! We only cheated for 3 seasons, not 20. And it's NOT a guarantee the 'Stros would hit a home run every pitch just because they knew what pitch was coming.

Oh please. The Mariners have been given 20 seasons to make the playoffs. 🎻

    Exactly.

EDITED for realism, it's NOT a guarentee they would have hit a home run every time with the cheating.

First time I'm seeing the standings for the league and after all the talk about the Yankees and them setting history, they have the Astros not far behind them. The rest of the AL isn't anywhere near close to them, yet we have up to five (six?) teams competing for those Wild Card spots. At least one of them are gonna trip over themselves and give it away.

The NL doesn't look much different from the last few years.

Yeah, I'd say the Astros have a good shot at catching the Yanks for the top spot in the AL. As for everyone else, get stuck trying to compete for the wild card or the ALDS exit that is the AL Central.

the mets are going to miss the playoffs by a game and it'll be this game. going to smash my fvcking head in a car door.

Mets gonna Mets. I still think they haven't recovered from the 07 collapse.

  3. I'd say Wrigley Field or Truist Park (whatever the heck it's called now) should host in 2024 or 2025. Wrigley because it hasn't hosted in so long and Chicago is a pretty big city if you haven't heard. The case for Atlanta being it would've hosted in 2021 had it not been for political reasons I shall not discuss here on this board and I feel it deserves a second chance.

I can deal with the Mean Girls clique-esque hate. Been through worse. And I am glad the Yankees are hated again. It did not feel right when the Patriots were hated the most. That just means the Yankees are back.

As for me calling them bums for getting no hit through 16 innings and what not, I am like Kobe Bryant. I hate to lose. I am passionate. I am of Caribbean descent and we loud people. But this shows I care for them so much. Fi mi team. I will be the 1st to tell them they suck if they suck. But if they are rolling, I do nothing but compliment them.

As an Astros fan (another team that gets non-stop hate), I identify with this. I've had people spit on me, cuss at me, etc. just for wearing an Astros shirt or hat. I am a more casual fan however, and if they suck, it's just aw shucks for me.

Wherever he goes, the Nats will get back a truckload of prospects in return. I hope he doesn't go to either of those. Or Boston. Unfortunately, I don't know where else would be willing to take him on and give him the mega deal. Both the Yankees and Dodgers outfield is pretty crowded right now, and the Yankees have Judge's future deal coming up. Who knows...

Atlanta? (Nah, the Nats wouldn't trade him to a division rival) San Diego? (Could be interesting, but I don't know what the Padres have to offer in return) Houston? (Again, our outfield seems to be pretty crowded).

Just wrapped up the 1999 season, so we are gearing up for 2000 in the Alt History of the USFL, but that means Reebok is gearing up to provide 3 teams with new looks.  Here are the Top 5 candidates.  Tell me who you think should get a facelift in 2001.

Arizona Wranglers:  Does the flaming brand remain or do the Wranglers go Xtreme?

Houston Gamblers:  Basically unchanged since 1984.  What might the new milennium bring?

Ohio Glory:  Pretty basic, and only 5 years into the league, but do they need to add some flash and pop?

Seattle Dragons: Also only 5 years old, but does the current set really say "Seattle" to you?

Tampa Bay Bandits:  The thin piping and side panels feel very 1990's to me.  Do they pull a Buccaneers overhaul or just a tweek?

I'd say keep the Glory and Bandits the way they are, they seem like classic looks if I say so myself. I'd say Seattle and Houston should get some minor tweeks with Arizona going full re-brand. Thinking Vegas Outlaws XFL logo here.

The Yanks are still 14 up in the division with the Astros being the inly team in the same realm record wise in the AL. Yeah they’ve cooled off this recently but this is literally their first “slump” of the year, which is still 5-5 in last 10, plus the Al-Star break is coming right up.

The Astros are still the only team that scares me, not worried about much else.

As An Astros fan myself, I'm still confident we can take out the Yankees again if the two meat in the playoffs, I mean it's the Yankees, they've flamed out in the playoffs for the last 20 years (except 2009). I'm more worried about the Dodgers, actually, they seem like the more talented team that could beat anyone.

  9. Personally, i'd say California Invaders to appeal not just to fans in the Bay Area but to people in say, San Diego who feel reluctant about rooting for the LA Express. Bay Area or Golden State Invaders would also work well too.

Hmm… something doesn’t seem entirely right… Is this supposed to be Hermès? Because I don’t see how the former Avengers Logo would describe a Team called the Express. Maybe like a full body secondary that emphasizes movement? Like the previous logo?

Yeah I agree here, what does a warrior like thingy have to do with a team called the Express? I personally think the UFL's Las Vegas Locos logo has some potential.

  11. 1. 11/1/2017 - Game 7 of the 2017 World Series. Yes, I know the Astros cheated but it was still awesome to see a team you've basically been a fan of all your life win their first championship. Game 2 and Game 5 were pretty fun, but that didn't give the 'Stros the title. Houston didn't want to win the World Series, they NEEDED to win the World Series after Harvey and they did (sorry not sorry Dodger fans, it's still officially our title)

    2. 6/12/2011 - Game 6 2011 NBA Finals. The Mavs cinderella run that year instantlly made me a basketball fan. It was my familys first year living in DFW and the energy was just electric. Never seen a city come alive like that.

    3. 1/4/2020 - Titans vs Patriots AFC Wild Card. Beating the Patriots in Foxboro in Brady's last game as a Pat? Heck Yeah!

    4. 9/4/2020 and 9/14/2020 - Stars series clinching OT wins vs Colorado and Vegas respectively.

And now the final reveal of the 1995 USFL Expansion clubs.  Here are your Atlanta Fire.

    spacer.png

I was tempted to add side panels on the jerseys, but opted not to go there (yet?).  The look borrows a lot from the Birmingham Fire of the WLAF, but rather than put flames on the sleeves I opted to use a secondary logo instead.  The helmets are very much the WLAF model, though the colors are slightly different with a more orangey-red instead of a standard red. Using different color sleeves just felt like a typical 90's thing to do and differentiated the team from some of the others.

And besides, it was about time the USFL added a team with an orange jersey.  Seems odd they never had one.

Very Broncos esque, but I like it!
