  1. Please do. I swear any time I hear someone use that term it makes them sound like that kid in high school who was trying to be cool, but just ends up looking like the desperate fool that everyone laughs at.
  2. Just because something sells, does not make it good. People bought the Bufflo-slug and that was bad. The screaming eagle is on the level of the Buffalo-slug bad. Logos don't need to be moving and dynamic to be good. Look at Chicago, New Jersey, Vegas, and Seattle for good logos. Washington has just always had bad logos. If you want to compare 90's bird looks, then look at the Robo Penguin. It's sleak, simple and just looks good. The screaming eagle looks like a steamroller ran over it.
  3. As much as I agree the word mark is bland and the weagle is not great, I just don't understand the love for the worst of their logos. That screaming eagle logos looks like some kid in grade school made it, and not one of the talented kids. So I do agree Washington needs a change, but something better than a bad grade school's kid attempt at an eagle.
  4. To answer both your questions about Reverse Retros. I was listening to a All the Kings men podcast where they did a RR 2.0 draft of the jerseys. One of the guys on there is the marketing guy for the Ontario Reign and worked with Vegas. He said that that was one of the goals for this version of the RR, was to have matchups between teams wearing their RR. So that's probably one of the reasons the Sharks have white. And if I look on the Kings schedule, they will be in RR matchups twice, against Arizona on Dec 23 and against Vegas on I think Jan 7. I also watched a bit of the Philly/Pittsburgh game and they were both wearing their Reverse Retros. I think one of the issues, is just when teams scheduled the games. I would've liked to see them work together on the project to schedule more games against each other. It is what it is. There was no mandate to have x amount of teams in white and y amount of teams in colored. Adidas gave them like 4-5 ideas (according to Luc Robitaille) and each team works off of those
  5. Is it me, or do the New York teams (Rangers and Islanders), just not care enough to try? It looks like they just look at it and go, "Eh, that's good enough."
  6. I’m watching the Kings live and I agree it’s what they should be wearing. On a podcast Luc Robitaille said that as long as he’s here the Kings will be black and white with the occasional purple jerseys. He reiterated that yesterday at a luncheon I was at that the Kings are black and white.
  7. We’re the numbers on the Toronto jerseys difficult for you to read? I was in section 207 and I had a hard time reading them except of the were around the goal line heading the other way.
  8. Wrong. Ticket sales are more important in the NHL. I would agree with you in the NFL, MLB, and NBA, but the NHL is still a ticket driven market. It's why making the playoffs is so important, that's where NHL teams make money. The farther in the playoffs they go, the more money they make.
  9. I never said the place was perfect. I just know that what I purchased was top notch quality. Stuff like manufacturer logos, I could care less about. If it's quality, it's quality. Again, there are things on there that I know are wrong (striping on California Angels '80's jerseys), but there's still some quality stuff there. If there is something I see that is wrong, I won't purchase it. Heck, it's why I won't buy an Angel or Dodger current replica from MLB as they don't have front numbers. Be picky, because that's what will make you happy with your purchases. There are also people out there that aren't as picky as we are, that would enjoy a jersey with a wrong number font or manufacturer logo on it.
  10. I'm going to throw my two cents in about this. Custom Throwbacks is a great site to work with. I've purchased a couple of jerseys and they were excellent and the service was excellent. Not everything on the site is correct, but if it's not right for you, bypass it. Overall they are pretty good for their work and knowing I can get a quality jersey from them versus the ridiculous prices at Mitchell and Ness who aren't that much better or the price of a current MLB authentic, Custom Throwbacks is a good place to go. I will also say that Bill Henderson's book is an excellent resource.
