  1. Watching the Kings- Rangers game and the Rangers new jerseys/socks are very underwhelming.
  2. Ignorant thinking. Look, let's call a spade a spade, not everyone who watches sports is as deep into it as we are. Having OSU, while simplifying the uniform, is pretty dumb. Those casual fans don't know the difference between Ohio State, Oklahoma State, and Oregon State. They just see OSU and will ask who the opposing team is playing. Be simple and straight forward and put the school name or nickname on the jersey. It's not that hard.
  3. So the Kings are selling their home jerseys with Mercury Insurance patches on them, and in the 6 games I've been to this year, I can't remember seeing anyone buy one or wearing one in the arena... so with that knowledge, they're not selling well in LA.
  4. It bugs me too. I wish they would ditch the white helmets and pants or do an all white look for a game. I just wish the purple jerseys were the primary home jerseys as they are the superior look with the yellow helmets and pants.
  5. There is a thread on page 3 that hasn't been updated since July. It's just motorsports threads don't gain much traction around here because they aren't stick and ball sports.
  6. I looked up their home games this year and it looks like the colors are similar. So what I'm thinking is the issue the television camera exposure with the sun beating down on the jersey is giving it the flat look. Realize that the jersey will suck in the light to the camera vs the helmet which is plastic and the light bounces off of it making it more reflective and hold the color better. If you want to see this, watch a movie on a white bed sheet and how the colors are so dull.
  7. It's been going on for years. I can say at least 10-12 from what I can remember. Somewhere around 2010 or 2012 I remember the Kings started doing that and I think a few of them were doing it prior to that.
  8. Are the numbers thicker than normal? That's always been my biggest beef with West Virginia's number. I can deal with the cutsie, but just don't make pencil thin numbers.
  9. I didn't know Nike was doing the City Connect program for colleges!
  10. The Hockey Gods are real.... hence why the President's Cup winner has won the Stanley Cup as many times as they've been knocked out of the 1st round. 8 times. They like to screw with each and every fanbase. And since the Vegas fanbase has started to realize how really difficult getting to the Cup is, the Hockey Gods have decided to screw with Boston this year. In all reality, if you looked at the who advanced up through Saturday night, it was all the higher seeds. So inevitably there were bound to be some upsets. I don't know what the odds are, but I'm pretty sure that probably most Stanley Cup playoff years have 2-3 lower seeds moving on. I'd be curious to see the last year that all the higher seeds moved on into the second round.
  11. Nope. I like it too. The only thing I don't like is the unnecessary use of black.
  12. It's not a terrible opinion. It's the option that many people have of the Anaheim Ducks colors (black, gold/bronze and orange). The orange and the gold are of the same tone therefore they complete/clash with each other.
  13. For Kings games they started it on Thursday night and hopefully it dies like their parent company. In replays it's fine, during live play, it's distracting. They're treating us like idiots with the puck tracker.
  14. I just found this thread and honestly, I think out of all of them, the first is the strongest look. It emphasizes the logo and the number. All the other concepts the logos and the numbers are muddied by the colors and get lost in the jersey.
  15. Apparently Jonathan Quick to Columbus with 1st rounder for Korpisolo and Gavrikov.
  16. Nope. I kind of found what I was looking for. It was the World Roller Hockey League that was in the summer of 1993. I found a video of it here:
  17. White whales for me would be the summer roller hockey league in the 90's that was in the Disney MGM Studios that Luc Robitaille was part of. I want to see logos and uniforms. I had them sketched out at one point in time, but who knows what happened to them.
  18. What's the issue? It's a nice classic look. The smokey grey looks like they are trying too hard.
  19. I look at the flag code like I look at NBA uniforms... I don't know what team is what and what is home and what is road and no one cares. The flag code is similar, I think the only people who know about the flag code are the people in the forum who keep quoting it. How many times do you see a girl farting on a flag bikini or a slob wiping his mouth with a flag napkin. Do we really respect the flag? I've come to the conclusion that the flag code is similar to the pirate code, in that in only applies if you're a flag.
  20. Marlboro never has sponsored a NASCAR car. Winston on the other hand sponsored the top series, the all-star race and even Jimmy Spencer's car. Plenty of Tobacco brands were plastered across NASCAR, so you're using a bad example.
  21. That's actually funny. I swear when I was younger and was watching BYU my dad would always ask me why I'm watching Yale.
  22. And Toronto loses in the 1st round.
  23. My sophomore year in high school (Fall of '96) my high school (Cypress Centurions) blue and orange changed to mimic the Chicago Bears. We started out with white pants, but then gradually did the monochrome look at home and blue pants on the road.
  24. Since I never went to a school that had a football program... I never had a team to have a chance to win a natty. *lol*
  25. The Guardians do have a case here. I know people are going to hate this, but if they still own the trademark to their old "c", throwing a lighting bolt over the "c" can be construed as trademark infringement. Remember that in a court of law, it's not length of use ( the Indians win that one as they've used the block "c" as far back as the 80's), but whether a person who knows nothing about the team could confuse the two logos and therefore cause damage ($ or reputation). It sounds bad, but he is actually swimming an uphill stream on this and more than likely will have to change his logo. I get that the block "c" is generic, but if Cleveland still has the trademark to it and did not give it up when they changed to Guardians, they have rights. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
