  1. I was watching the Cubs and Marlins the other day, and that ugly ADT patch was on the Miami pitcher's visible sleeve. Evidently, teams are starting to pick up on this discrepancy, and the ad-free grace period we've seen on the mound so far will likely meet its end fairly soon.
  2. Overall, I think this is a good City Connect uni, and it's certainly thousands of times better than the mess Texas put out a few weeks ago. I appreciate that they went with the trident M rather than the cartoony S it seemed as if they were planning to use weeks ago. And the black pants? They wouldn't be my first choice for this kind of uniform, but they're not a deal breaker for me either. However, I sincerely hope that this isn't a sneak peek of a future blue-yellow rebrand. Blue and teal fit the Mariners perfectly, and if they switch to the retro stylings full-time, they'll end up needlessly impeding on the identity the Brewers have been cultivating.
  3. All the buildup on this board, and we get THIS. No maroon. No orange. No helmet flecks. Just what looks to be a toned-down version of the Ottawa #REDBLACKS or whatever they officially are. This place has got to be in shambles right now.
  4. This entire sequence has made me despise the city of Las Vegas. They have had a boatload of sports teams just handed to them in just the past 5 years at the expense of far more dedicated fans in Oakland. They don't deserve this. They just don't.
  5. Personally, I wouldn't be shocked if the Tigers pressured Nike into including the black pants just to differentiate the uniforms from theirs.
  6. "This mythical creature is created by imagining a blend of of the Dallas Eagles and the Fort Worth Panthers." Congratulations, Nike! You made a Griffin!
  7. Alright, I'm trying to follow what's going on here and frankly, I'm lost. Can anyone explain what's going on? What do we know as fact, and what's pure speculation?
  8. If he thinks those two look too similar, I hope he never finds out about the REST of the MLB.
  9. You should work for the Nike PR department.
  10. Don't worry about it. In a few years from now ads are gonna be on BOTH sleeves, and none of this will matter.
  11. The football gods have tortured Cardinals fans since 1898 and there's no reason they should stop now. That being said, I think the Cardinals should go as wild as possible with this rebrand. And when I say wild, I mean WILD. Change the name to the CARDZ (all caps) make the helmets orange with a grey facemask (preserving tradition) and give us an all-black home set (or the #DRIPPY set, as we'll call it). Meanwhile, the road unis (or the #REZPECT set) will have an orange top and a red bottom. The alternates (#IMPACTZ) will be made to look like the body of an actual cardinal, complete with the triangle "feathers" Nike designed for the Atlanta Hawks almost a decade ago. It will be terrible and glorious at the same time. So c'mon Nike! Pull the trigger and make these monstrosities a reality! I dare ya!
  12. I'm surprised New Era hasn't advocated for this change before. Think of all the additional hats (and selling points) such a change could generate! Their NFL branch already has this concept down pat. These aren't just hats, no sir, they're genuine NFL SIDELINE HATSTM! That alone is sure to make these otherwise unremarkable caps worth at least an extra $25, And considering just how massive the MLB cap market is, the MLB Manager SeriesTM line of hats would generate loads of additional revenue.
  13. What if these teams have wised up to the art of leaking and are now just putting out various novelty unis just to throw us off?
  14. I bet Oakland's says "Wait, we're still here?"
  15. Woooh boy, they better get ready for jokes every time a Marlin gets plunked by a pitch.
  16. Please don't tell me this was intentional.
  17. Hmm. The Cowboys often use the D alone on sideline caps and the like, but I've never seen one with a C in the middle. Nice find.
  18. I agree with you on the Minnesota patch. I know they were going for a simplistic look, and it works for the most part. But that patch looks like it was designed 5 minutes before the jerseys went into production. Same thing with the new M logo. But remember, it could be worse. Much worse.
  19. SATIRE: noun: the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's opinions, and something our friend here doesn't quite understand.
  20. So if a retro-style uniform like that of the Twins dares to break tradition or isn't an exact replication of uniform styles of yesteryear, it's a failure? I was really liking those new retro 49ers uniforms, but it looks like they added a (gasp) original touch and put the 49ers wordmark on the front! That means these don't fit into the rigid confines of their past uniform designs! They're a throwback to a design which never existed! They just don't feel 49ers to me now.
  21. Couldn't you say the same for every retro-style ballpark in existence?
  22. That is weird. With their 2020 makeover, it looked like the Rangers were trying to embrace light blue as a team color in a sense. Now with it absent from the striping, you would think the team is trying to erase the color from their scheme overall. But if the light blue alts are still in rotation, the choice to eliminate the light blue striping becomes questionable. Is it a team color or not? Texas needs to make up its mind.
  23. New (and particularly ugly) BFBS alternate for Mississippi State. They seem to be referring to this set as their "Sunday best," so unfortunately we'll be seeing a lot of this throughout the season.
