  1. My two oldest sisters graduated from Rosemount! If my family didn't move and I continued growing up in the house we did, I would've ended up going to Eastview instead.
  2. I consider this a downgrade but what do you guys think?
  3. Seattle didn't put in any of the necessary work to get a team or even show interest in a team. Vegas paid a half a billion dollars for a franchise, built a NHL-quality arena and got deposits on 16K imaginary tickets before the team even was awarded. Vegas put their work in to get their franchise. Seattle didn't and Kansas City didn't do anything either. All cities had their chance to bid for an expansion team. Vegas and Quebec City only bid but Quebec City will not get an expansion team due to the league being unbalanced. Quebec City will get their team but only in the form of a team moving (i.e. Carolina) but don't tell me that Vegas is only a tourist town. They have a vast population with many ice rinks around the area and the town does have a very strong hockey community. The Thunder and Wranglers have always had great support, UNLV's hockey team gets great support as well. This city wanted a franchise and got one with Foley leading the charge. I don't see the watered down remark because this league is flourishing with talent and even better talent is coming through almost every draft there's a new huge talent coming into the league. Hockey doesn't work in the south? Arizona just claimed the most recent first overall pick. Southern California teams have 3 cups, the first California-born Cup winner just was awarded last season. All of those locations are more south than Vegas. Those are just examples of the growth of the game in markets that were scoffed at initially.
  4. Oh I don't? Please explain then what I'm so wrong about then.
  5. It's really disheartening to see so many people here and on Facebook wishing that this franchise :censored: the bed and relocate or fold. I for one like the logo, I kinda wish they would find a consistent color scheme for it and I'm not a fan of the grey however I will be excited to go to one of their games as Vegas is close enough to go to a game there. I'm excited to see a new franchise in the league I love and I hate seeing people stomp on the idea of growing the game we love to new markets. I understand people are upset about Quebec or Hartford or Seattle not getting a franchise but frankly Quebec and Hartford have no chance. Both being eastern conference markets hurts them immediately. Hartford is a great AHL city but too small for the NHL imo. Seattle didn't do the necessary work to bid for a franchise so obviously rule them out. Las Vegas earned the right to have this team and I want them to flourish and build their brand. These "so called hockey fans" need to encourage the growth of the game and support this new franchise over their petty complaints about their preferred city not getting a team.
  6. I'm still holding out for Las Vegas Knightmare
  7. Pumphrey put up 281yds and 3TDs against Cal but no other player put up those numbers against them (including the formentioned Dont'a Foreman) So using and degrading a players schedule against him shouldn't have a place here. A player doesn't control who he plays and what type of defense he plays against. They go out and do their job and he's done that consistently the whole season at a top level on usually within 3 Quarters so he's not just padding his stats. If you want to make the Heisman, a strict Power5 Award then do that but for now it's an NCAA football award and SDSU plays in the NCAA so he should 100% be in the running for the Heisman. I'm sick and tired of hearing how a players schedule should remove him from the conversation when he doesn't control who he plays. He just controls how he performs in the game and when called upon and Pumphrey has done that at a Heisman level consistently all season.
  8. I don't understand what the big deal is. They're both good looking logos and most don't notice that they're different so I don't really understand how they take away from the uniform. This is literally nit-picking for nit-picking sake lol
  9. I don't see why people get pissed about running up the score. If teams don't like it then don't play bigger and better teams. Any team has a chance to score as many as Points as they want, why look down on teams that run their offense and still have success? Theres no mercy rule in sports and every player on that field should know there's a chance you could lose 79-3. They accept that and they still play the game. This is is coming from a Hawai'i fan that just watched his team fly to Ann Arbor to lose 69-3.
  10. I'm interested in this a lot. I actually played two seasons in 2004/05 and 05/06 for the Tulsa Bazooka Blues (ugh that name was awful)
  11. You guy the guy 3 days then you quoted yourself, then 4 days while there are tons of other requests that he is doing. Don't be pushy dude we get it you want yours done, just be patient!!!
  12. No they didn't, just don't be impatient and understand Ren has had A LOT of requests and there's an order to them, just because YOU ask for one doesn't make it the #1 priority. You may think they're jerks but they're not, being impatient and complaining about it makes you the jerk. Just settle down and get some damn patience. Again Ren amazing work, I haven't requested cause I don't really have a logo for you to do, but I just love seeing what you come up with next. Well done.
  13. that's still in good quality. This thread is more about updating old looking logos that have low quality.
  14. Is there a logo you can't improve? Jeez you're killing it. Insane work Ren!!!!!!!!
  15. Here we go: NHL: Minnesota Wild - Grew up a North Stars fan and was devestated when they moved. Even though the Wild came about after I moved to Ohio, the Wild were my team. I was an instant fan of Marian Gaborik and I will always be a Wild fan. My 2nd choice: San Jose Sharks - I like the sharks for a couple reasons more because I like a lot of the players, their uniforms, and my girlfriend loves them. NBA: OKC Thunder - I'm not a fan of basketball at all but I'll root for the Thunder because growing up in OKC and being Oklahoma's highest level pro team I want them to succeed. 2nd Choice: LA Clippers. I like Blake Griffin and I'm not a fan of the Lakers. Not exactly a big choice here but oh well. NFL: Minnesota Vikings - Like the Wild I like to root for Minnesota teams. I'm a huge Peterson fan and I've always liked the Vikings. 2nd Choice: Miami or St. Louis. Big fans of Davone Bess and Sam Bradford (He and I graduated from the same HS) MLB: Twins - Not a big fan of baseball myself but like I said I wanna root for Minnesota teams. Plus I still enjoy watching Little Big League. 2nd Choice: Indians or Giants. My parents love the Indians and My GF loves the Giants. NCAA Football: University of Hawaii - Wasn't at all a big football fan until one year I picked up an Athlon magazine an flipped to the only school I knew, University of Minnesota. On the opposite side was Hawaii and Timmy Chang. Became a huge fan of Chang because we're both Asian-American athletes and I loved Hawaii's logo an uniforms. 2nd Choices: UCLA & Oklahoma. I hate USC and my sister went to UCLA. I used to hate Oklahoma when I lived there but before I moved to LA, I slowly started to like them around the Bradford era and now I root for OU cause it gives me a little piece of Oklahoma to go for (See Thunder) NCAA football FCS: Weber State - I went to Weber for one year and I was on the hockey team there so we'd go their games sometimes when we didn't have games.
  16. As a former Minnesota native and now a LA native I'd be sad to see the Vikings come here. LA just keeps poaching those purple and gold teams.
  17. Taking Laurel Canyon blvd from Magnolia blvd to Hollywood Blvd at 5:30pm which is like a 5-6 mile stretch used to take me 45 mins. I just said hell with it, it's not worth trying. Taking city streets is sometimes worse than the highway. When I worked in Reseda from Studio City, I'd have to leave at 3:10 for a 4pm shift just to get there by 3:55 on the 101. It's awful. You clearly haven't experienced Los Angeles traffic When I drive out to college, it's a 15-mile drive, it usually takes me about 1 and a half hours. An hour and a half to go 15 miles? It's ridiculous. There have been times where it takes about 2 hours to go 10 miles in some parts of the city. Traffic here is horrendous.
  18. Spoken like a true non-LA native. Traffic is a HUGE concern for this team's location. One thing about FF if it was in downtown the metro has a station right across the street from Staples. In COI you're stuck with driving and well traffic is a pain to get out there on the weekends. I used to date a girl that lived in Corona/Riverside and I live in Studio City. I know my traffic out in that area quite well, it sucks. Issue with talking about the Metro, is that I think it's a bad assumption to make that people will be riding the train. Angelenos aren't known for their prolific public transit usage. And car wise downtown is as bad as COI on weekends, if not worse. On MNF it's a parking lot. And it has an added handicap of not being a good place for tailgating. I've taken the metro enough to Kings games to know that a lot of people will take the metro to save on parking costs, traffic costs, and gas costs. Now I'm not saying they need to rely on people taking the Metro I'm just saying with a stadium downtown that's a good option to have. @DG we complain about traffic for everything, not just a football team. But traffic is a big concern for the placement of the team.

  20. When can we see your cameo? 1st Iceland game. When dwayne robertson stops and says "Fulton fire it in there." If you pause it at that right moment you can see my father, Me (Sleeping) my mother and my middle sister in the stands right behind robertson's head.
  21. I like how canada is completely absent in the junior goodwill games but Italy, Iceland, Trinidad/Tobago, and Germany all made it. Fun Fact: I was in D2: The Mighty Ducks
