  1. One in Missisauga and one in Vaughan. Don't know about Toronto proper. I hear there may be more in the plans thankfully.
  2. I do, and they have approached, as Gary. said, to join Division II. This isn't the first time a non american school has joined the NCAA. Saint Francis, from Canada, joined Division II recently, and there are schools from Puerto Rico already in the NCAA. Notice how ESPN is not jumping all over them. That is because those countries don't really care about college football. There is a reason there aren't many none american schools in the NCAA. Um, don't you mean Simon Fraser? Yes he does. Simon Fraser from BC is in NCAA Div 2. Saint Francis Xavier from Nova Scoatia is still part of the CIS.
  3. The Big 12 is easily tied with the Big 10 as the second strongest football conference now. OU, OSU, Texas, WVU, TCU have all been consistant Top 25 teams for the past 5 years.
  4. To be fair, WVU has never been in the same conference as 2 of the 'rivals' you mentioned. Not that those 2 teams are really rivals of WVU. The real rivals are VT and Pitt.
  5. Sure cause WVU is so horrible in both football and basketball.
  6. Especially from the Airport. From KPIT to the WVU campus is maybe 45mins tops.
  7. After a few hours to dwell on it...I have to say the best news about West Virginia going to the Big 12 is another reason for me to visit Austin. I can't wait for the Mountaineers to play there.
  8. The Big XII a better football conference than the SEC? I think the rumors were that West Virginia would NOT receive an invite to the SEC... not that they would. But yes, the Big XII is a fairly strong basketball conference... 1 for 3 ain't bad. No I mean the Big 12 is better than the Big East. The early reports last month were that WVU was going to be the 14th team in the SEC with Texas A&M. Oliver Luck denied that later on.
  9. Well the Big 12 sure beats the Big East. Although I'm only gonna believe it when Oliver Luck confirms it. The same stories last month had WVU in the SEC for sure. I like the Big 12 move not only as a better football conference, but also as a strong basketball conference. Here's hoping this gets confirmed.
  10. Montreal will never see a Major League Baseball team in the next 20 years. A lot of it has to do with the things you said, but the biggest factor causing the downturn in interest in Baseball in Quebec was the rise of Football as the most popular summer sport in the Province. Football is leaps and bounds ahead of Baseball in interest now in Quebec and it's still growing. Vancouver would be a much better candidate for a Major League baseball team. It's the biggest hotbed of baseball in the country and has been for a while now. However with the money they just spent on the Olympics and the renovations to BC Place, there's no way a MLB calibre ballpark will be built in the area, unless it is 100% financed by the private sector, and I just can't see that happening.
  11. If I'm the Big Ten I want nothing to do with Notre Dame. Sure they have a big following, but I'm happy with the following Ohio State and Michigan bring in. They gave Notre Dame plenty of chances to join and they turned them all down. Too late for the Irish.
  12. Maryland isn't really a rival, so that would go if need be. I know the Huntington crowd and the state government would like to keep the "coal bowl" alive, but I don't think it's an untouchable rivalry.
  13. Especially when according to the reports, the SEC is on the radar. I'd love to rekindle the rivalry with Kentucky.
  14. When did the Predators move to Bowling Green, KY?
  15. I have a feeling this thread will be moving as well
  16. Ummmmmmmm there's a realignment thread stickied at the top of the board FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Montreal Canadiens - Born in Montreal, entire family supports them Toronto Blue Jays - Only baseball team in Canada, I live in Toronto now so that doesn't hurt (I liked the Expos too, when they were around) Toronto Raptors - Toronto's team, I went to their first regular season game at the SkyDome against the New Jersey Nets, I remember sitting in the 500 level for that one Toronto Argonauts - Have met a couple of players over the years through Rep football, also one of the two local teams My true passion is Toronto FC - Season ticket holder since day 1, only missed one home game last season, made up for it by going to two road games. I supported The Lynx in USL-1 before MLS came to town. It's fun supporting the local team. I can't see why anyone would prefer watching soccer on tv from Europe instead of local live action.
