Are eSports a real sport?

To those who are saying that because there is no activity involved =/= not a sport, what makes NASCAR a sport then?

experiencing 100+ degrees of heat, turning the cars while pulling up to 3 Gs, doing it for 4+ hours, the amount of skill involved to drive the cars at 200 mph within inches of other cars on the wall. The drivers have to be incredibly fit to last a race, there is a lot of physical exertion that goes into racing these cars.

Driving a car really, really fast does not make it a sport.

you are just ignorant to the strain that is put on ones body in a stock car, experiencing 3 G's is like having 500-600 pounds being put on your side and they experience that up to 1000 times in a race. there is also the heat, which can be excruciating especially in the summer months, it gets far above 100 in the cars normally around 120 with the only thing to cool them down is a small AC fan to their helmet and some water to drink. they also have to wear a fire suit and 3 more layers of fire protective material underneath it so its now your every day drive down the highway. also the drivers truly work the cars because turning the cars especially at that speed is much different than a regular street car and takes a lot more work. there is also the inherent danger of driving that fast inches apart from other drivers and the wall, their is typically one major injury a year even with all the safety measures in place, and thankfully there hasn't been a death for over a decade i believe which is in large part because of the many safety advancements over the last 14 years.
